Posted - Oct 05 2012 : 05:47:14 AM to answer a few questions....
1. We will hold these quarterly...next one in January- capping it off at 40 people. 2. Recipe for Orange Blossom Rice Mix...
Orange Blossom Rice Mix This recipe will fill a 1-cup container.
1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice (I used Jasmine) 1/2 teaspoon dried orange peel (I dehydrated in my oven and ground in spice mill) 1 teaspoon Kosher salt 1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram (Oregano works as a sub) 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl. Store in an airtight container.
Orange Blossom Rice:
2 & 1/2 cups water 2 tablespoons butter 1 package Orange Blossom Rice Mix (see above)
In a medium pan, bring the water and butter to a boil. Add the rice mix and reduce the heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for 20 minutes. This rice is delicious with sauteed chicken or fish.

Posted - Oct 02 2012 : 09:22:01 AM What a wonderful idea to put together with a group! You really got a lot of wonderful additions for your pantry too. Do you trade more often than once a year? I am thinking this would be a fun way to swap goodies that could be used for holiday gift baskets.
