On Friday we added a new member to our family...I'd like to introduce our own "Miss" Scout. She is a Mackerel Tabby and as gentle and sweet as can be although she does have a feisty side when Truman gets a little too aggressive but he is doing very well accepting her into the fold-Our first day with her it only took about 6-8 hours of intense on the floor reassurance convincing Truman that in fact, this was not a rabbit, but a wee kitty! Actually, she is about 10-months old and has been at the shelter here for a little while. She's very patient-calm-and a real snoodler...
I never thought I would have another cat after Tibbitts died but, I saw that "purrrrfect" face on-line and something just clicked!

Posted - Dec 01 2012 : 08:57:39 AM How precious! One pet can never "replace" the loss of another, but it certainly brings out the love in you and how can you not rescue such a beautiful furry life. I'm sure she will brings lots of joy to you and what a great life she will now have!
Just warms my heart! Congratulations to your new family addition!

Posted - Nov 29 2012 : 08:12:00 AM Love your little kitty. I have a calico cat named Misty. Actually she belongs to my son. But he moved out and could not take her with him. She is an inside cat only. Because I have a big dog out side that would love to eat her if only she could get close enough. Misty has been here in my house now for almost 5 years. She is a good kitty. She loves playing with my Boston named Baxter.

Posted - Nov 28 2012 : 1:12:32 PM She is so sweet and has to be right in your lap for cuddling-Not at all "aloof" or standoffish...It's a nice surprise to have a cat with that kind of temperament in the house-Brings out the best in the family-She has settled right in...now if only DH would stop calling her Tibbitts-He says he can't help it-He misses her so.
