Posted - Mar 21 2013 : 07:20:55 AM DH and I looked them up on wiki-pedia, and though I still think some of the scenarios are at least set-up or enhanced, the premise is actually TRUE! Google Phil Robertson, and you'll see a VERY CLEAN-CUT college guy! He taught English and played NFL Football, where Terry Bradshaw was HIS back up! Phil even said that he pretty much went to college just to prove that even though he looks like a redneck, he's not stupid. He also truly DOES live by the values he exhibits on the show. They are very religious - even one of his 6 or 7 brothers is a minister... and the only one without a beard! He did start the business in a shed in the backyard, did receive a patent, and did built a multi-million dollar enterprise.
It's an amazing story... I hope they write a book.

Posted - Mar 13 2013 : 09:02:22 AM I too dig it. It's a bit "staged" even though it's "non-scripted," but A & E does that a lot. I don't care, I still find it entertaining, and if it makes me laugh that's all that matters.

Posted - Mar 13 2013 : 02:53:51 AM I like the episode where Miss Kay needed an apron and Si ended up making it for her. Oh and yes, of course the infamous "sword" episode. Great show and really awesome family.

Posted - Mar 12 2013 : 10:09:47 PM We love the beards at our house! I grew up in a family business so the different values between the generations and the sibling rivalry rings true with me. All of the characters are usually funny so it's hard for me to pick a favorite. One thing is for sure...this show would't be the same without any one of them.
Cheers! ~ Marilyn
