Lady in Texas sees a snake in her yard (and it was non-poisonous), throws gas on the snake and lights the poor thing on fire (I hope she is arrested for extreme animal cruelty), snake makes it to brush pile next to housepayback from the snake, and it bursts into flames and lights house on fire, it burns to ground and also causes fire damage to the neighbors house, and shes mad cause the fire dept can't save her house

I can see killing poisones snakes when they are a threat to children/pets and livestock, and I do, but humanely, shot to the head, or a sharp shovel to the neck...setting any creature on fire is just plain sickningly cruel, its the most painful way to die...its on the same level as leg traps, and then left to die, I don't care what kind of animal, if its become a danger to you and others, its still a living creature, and crualty should not be part of the equation...when i see where people have gone on a rampage and killed countless coyotes as example, and then just hang them on their fences to rot, with the bizzare reason of it will keep the others away, thats just foolish and an old wives tale...I do feel really sorry for her neighbor, but as for her, shes beyond studid, and her insurance company is right, she set the fire, its nothing differant than arson, the only thing I'm sorry about is shes not being charged with animal cruelty and arson!

sometimes I wonder what people are thinking when they do things like that!

I have always been told to burn the snake and put it in an area you think snakes are coming in to and they wont go past it. Now i have never tried this, i do kill snakes but i dont start them on fire.

I also saw this on the news. What a horrible thing to set a snake on fire. I don't really like snakes but I would never set on fire.

Annie, since it was all over the news and internet, when she called her insurance company, they refused to cover it, saying it was no differant than arson, lol, i just hope her neighbor does not get screwed ...

Saw this on the news and my mouth just dropped to the floor - how stupid can you get!!!!! And it's called Karma. I felt so bad for the snake. Wonder if she had house insurance. If not, the neighbor who's house was also damaged will be up a creek for the damages to their place. Feel sorry for the neighbor too. Some people. . . .

Sad thing is that she never listened to her parents about leaving snakes alone and on top of that she didn't learn a damned thing. She'll always blame the snake when. It was her own fault. Last I knew snakes don't just spontaneously combustion.

Oh my gosh. Poor snake. That was sad.
