Back sometime LAST Spring (though, I would argue with the snow flying outside, we have not yet reached Spring), I posted pictures of my little one, Violet and her new best friend, Sky. Both their dads are dear friends, and musicians, who reconnected last year (with a little needling from this gal) and aside from an amazing musical partnership, it's resulted in this precious little friendship and sisterhood. Sometimes it gets lonely to be an only child as both Violet and Sky are. And, one day, when they're older, they'll really "get" one another like my best friend, Jess and I did--because we were both only children, too.

Too cute! The pictures reminded me of my best neighbor friend. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Nini--the credit for these belongs to my husband, though :) He also takes really wonderful shots!!!

They're happy little girls and that makes me happy. I'm thrilled that you see it, too.
Have a great day!

I'm glad I could share them with you, girls. Whenever I look at the one with them digging in the freshly turned soil (for Sky's daddy's garden), I just think, "this is how kids should be..."--carefree, nurturing the earth, taking care of one another the way they do (holding hands downt he steep hill to the creek). It just seems like we forget that as we age with all we have to do, take care of, "be". I just hope they can hold onto this innocence for a looooong time. I intend to help keep it that way.

I am trying to be the person my dogs think I am.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Thank you, Nicole. Whenenver I'm having a rotten moment (like this am), I look at these pics and they make me feel so calm. I'm glad Violet has someone in this crazy world!

Friendship really is a wonderful gift, Lori--and Violet is just desperate for companionship. I feel bad--aside from Sky, she has an imaginary friend named Max, who, thankfully eats all his vegetables and picks up his toys when Violet does not :) But, I feel bad because "Max" goes with us everywhere!!! Very glad that Sky is a real live human child and that they can run the hills and dales and get dirty and then come inside and play princesses.

They really are, Mary Beth. Sky is so demure and Violet is...well, not. They compliment each other nicely and I hope they have a long lifetime of friendship. Sisters are very important!

Thanks, Kelly--
I'm really glad they have one another. Neither of them live in neighborhoods with children, or have any cousins living close by. Just growin' up around adults :)
