i recently bought a mountain dulcimer and am having a devil of a time trying to find someone to give lessons or where to attend a "jam". everyone keeps telling me to go to you tube, but i dont learn well that way and my computer has problems with real time video. i have the basics down but need to learn fingering techniques, etc. does anyone know where i could get lessons in wayne county ohio or nearby? are there other dulcimer players out there that would like to get together?

There is a place in Brasstown, NC that teaches dulcimer. The name of the school is John C. Campbell Folk School.
Their web site is www.folkschool.org.
Phone number is 1-800-365-5724.
If you go on their web site you will be able to find what week the classes are and sign up. They are pretty reasonable price. Hope this helps.

Google Folk Art Schools and see if there is one near you. They usually offer lessons on the dulcimer.
