Posted - Apr 10 2013 : 08:06:15 AM Went up to the mountains with some girlfriends this past weekend and stayed so sick with motion sickness. I threw up for 3 hours in the car and could not stop. I laid in the cabin for 2 days getting over it. I was so miserable. It will be a long time before I do that again. I have always gotten car sickness since I was a little girl. I guess i am a wimpy kid. (Grownup).

Posted - Apr 12 2013 : 11:27:21 AM SO sorry that you had such a bad expereince. As CJ said, I have heard from MANY people that ginger helps tremendously! Along with sitting in the front see, or being the driver and ot a passenger. I hope that you find something that works so that you can enjoy travel! Hugs,

Posted - Apr 11 2013 : 05:38:19 AM I am sorry to hear. I've been there, I get motion sickness so easily and nothing works. The little white bags on airplanes have my name on them! Since I was a kid I have to ride in the front seat. It's worse if I am too warm, too.
Feel better!
Hugs, Nicole

Posted - Apr 11 2013 : 04:47:45 AM I get carsick too if I'm not driving. If I am in a backseat and can't see the road it's worse. I have also heard that ginger works wonders. Laura

Posted - Apr 10 2013 : 5:45:00 PM Dorinda, I'm so sorry! I found out just a couple years ago that our daughter always got car sick. She never threw up and she never said anything to her dad or I about it . . . WE NEVER KNEW! (She's an adult in her 40's) And, I feel so bad that we didn't know. She says she just thought that it was just that way and there was nothing to do about it.
Anyway, she has discovered ginger capsules and says they work! We've gone on several road trips together and now that she has discovered ginger, she often doesn't want to drive so she can sight see. She says that they work best when taken before you start your trip and I think she takes them every few hours. You can get them at pretty much any health food store. I've heard from other folks that suffer motion sickness that they also find that ginger works for them.
So . . . maybe that will help! Hope you recover quickly! CJ

Posted - Apr 10 2013 : 4:49:45 PM Do you do better in the front seat? A lot of people do. I got car sick on long trips when I was a kid. After I got glasses it got so much better. It can have something to do with how the eyes focus. Sorry it messed up your fun. Susan

Posted - Apr 10 2013 : 12:40:33 PM Dorinda, I'm car sick all the time if I'm not driving. Forget putting me in the back of van or something like that. I'm 39 and I've gotten carsick my whole life. Don't even think about getting me on a boat--even cruise ships make me barf!
My little one seems to take after me and I've been giving her the children's Dramamine tablets. Works like a dream. She relaxes and doesn't get sick!
