Hi Farmsisters!

I've been away from the forum longer than usual the last week. Spring weather arrived and I was cleaning out the garden, and driving around to my dd's activities that have kept us busier than usual. I was looking forward to a quieter week, and to log on Monday, but had a freak accident. I took my dog to the vet as she needed one shot. It's a new vet there and looks like new staff, too. The tech asked me to put the dog on the scale (which she hadn't lowered all the way) and when I brought my dog over, the tech came at her from the front and went to pull her collar to get her up on the scale. My big baby in fur got spooked and literally jumped backwards away from the scale, landing on my foot. She landed on my little toe, ripping off the toenail to down by the cuticle, and slicing up my exposed nail bed. Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Had to go to the doctor. It hurts big time! Amazing how something so small can hurt so much!

Then yesterday DH was trying to cut a very large hanging branch that was damaged in Sandy. It came down too fast, landing on his thigh. Scared me to death. He's okay, but now we are both walking with a limp, lol. What a sight we must have been when we went to our neighborhood diner for lunch.

Ok...I am done. No more accidents!

Missed y'all!

Farmgirl hugs,
Nicole

I'm okay , as long as I don't get stepped on, but after wearing closed toe shoes I start to limp a bit. DH is still bruised and limping a bit, and NOW DD was helping me in the yard and twisted her ankle! Put ice on it, she's ok but sore. That's it!!! I'm wrapping us all in bubble wrap! Guess we are done since things happen in threes, LOL!

Ewwww Nicole!! Good to hear you are both okay. I got stung by a scorpian on my little toe, and you are right, I didn't think it would be so uncomfortable on something so little. LOL

Nicole,
I hear you! And, it seems like it doesn't take much of a foot injury to hurt like the dickens! I took a nasty fall at Robin's school over 2 weeks ago when I was visiting there and hurt my foot (along with other things!). It was a strange thing and I still don't really know what I did to my foot but it still hurts!

Hang in there! And, yup, no more accidents!

Sorry...didn't mean to gross ya out. :)

My mom jokingly suggested crutches, and we each take one! I'm paranoid that I don't get stepped on now...
