I just love this lamp. Everytime we go to visit she sends me home with good stuff. She is 97 now.

Hi NancyJo, I'm a recently new Farmgirl Sis. Nice to meet you here. Your Aunt's lamp is beautiful! What a treasure to receive from her and to have to always think of her when you look at it. When my grandma passed all that she had was gone by then (I won't go into that sad story), but I asked my aunt for any of grandma's clothing so I could make a quilt to remember her by. She ended up sending me a quilt top instead! I had never seen it before but apparently my aunt and grandmother both worked on it together (all by hand) and she said it was up to me to finish it so that it can be a three generational quilt. I didn't know how to quilt. About a year ago a tiny quilt shop opened in my town and I signed up for their first beginners class. I didn't even know I would need a machine. They quilt by machine these days! hahaa... what did I know? I made a table runner. And then decided I needed the advanced class because I felt I didn't learn enough. I have almost finished my first quilt, but still don't feel good enough to tackle Grandma's quilt yet. It will need to be finished by hand since it was started that way, but I want to make sure I'm good enough to finish it up right. But what a treasure to have something from my beloved Grandma. Finished or not! (I will get there someday). Sorry to run on (my dad says I'm a Jabberwalkie!)... Good to meet you! btw: I love all your bowls and jars full of buttons!!

A delightful lamp!I'll bet it makes Aunt Glenda smile if she knows you have it on all the time. How wonderful of her to share her beautiful things and memories with loved ones when she can decide who she wants to share things with!
When my DH's grandfather died, his second wife invited family to the house the day of the funeral and just handed things to people, not caring who wanted what, just "Here's a memory, you can go now." She moved out a few days later and hasn't kept in touch. It seemed so strange.
We should take a lesson from Glenda. They are just "things" but some touch the heart more than others.

Welcome Back Ms Nancy Jo, I have missed you too. Beautiful Lamp, wonderful to hear your Aunt Glenda is 97 and still living on her own enjoying life, what a Blessing for her.
