I bought a chrome bread canister back in 2005, at a quaint little antique shop in Santa Maria, California... and paid $20 for it back then.... so... imagine my delight when I spotted it in the 1965 Montgomery Wards catalog for $14.50.. talk about inflation!

this one is mine and I do use it to store my tea bags, wine bottle stoppers and other goodies...

mine and this one, the one in the catalog... they are the same, I just took the photo of mine from a different angle.

I love it, what a great find both in the store and then to find it in an old catalog. Wish life was a bit more simple as it was back then.
