Posted - Mar 03 2007 : 12:13:56 PM So fun to have one in the house!! I was irritated by the sound of our keyboard..this old wonderful piano has great sound and isn't even tuned yet...that will be soon though. They (my husband and 4 young strong men..nephews all) forgot to grab the bench so I need to go back for that. At least I didn't have to see the piano being moved up a flight of stairs where it was. Yikes!! the pictures are on my blog!

Posted - Mar 04 2007 : 9:44:54 PM I can sort of play heart and soul..just the one easy part...and if I get to practicing maybe one of the girls can play the hard part..so that is something, right??? They have been glued to that piano since we got it..and it sounds SO nice!! Can't wait for it to get tuned..it will be even better. It looks more black in the pictures than it is..it is a very very dark mahogany color in "real life". I just love it.

Posted - Mar 04 2007 : 8:23:26 PM Jenny - it's such a darling piano! I LOVE the black - it's perfect with your house. I was checking out your blog and it looks like you and the kids and your uncle had a great time - your uncle looks (and sounds) like such a nice man. I vote for learning chopsticks - then you can do a duet with the kids!
XOXO, Libbie

Posted - Mar 04 2007 : 11:11:17 AM How fun! Get a beginner book and just teach yourself a couple of chords. It makes you feel so good just to hear yourself make simple music. I never could catch on to piano, started as an adult, but I can play a couple chords and I feel like I'm all it when I do...lol |

Posted - Mar 03 2007 : 6:02:04 PM Great upright.....love pianos and the kids always love them too!
Here is a musical hint: chopsticks, heart and soul and Fake books...all in the key of C. Those are the only things I can play on our piano!
Have fun!! G

Posted - Mar 03 2007 : 5:52:26 PM I love it so much. The girls have been playing all afternoon! I only wish I knew how to play even a little. Maybe I will learn some time. The boys seem somewhat interested too..we will see. sure sounds nicer than the cheap keyboard the girls WERE practicing on...looks alot better too!!

Posted - Mar 03 2007 : 12:35:50 PM I remember when my parent retired and the piano was moved to their new house. It took six men and they were still struggling. Lots of nasty words were said and they all said they would never move a piano again. Isn't it a good thing we have men to do all that heavy lifting?
Blessed are those who love the soil,

Hey, also just to let you know, Miss Mona has some mail coming her way. I mailed it off today. Shhh! Don't tell her tho, I want it to be a surprize! Hugs, Lu
