Last week I started a housekeeping journal to help me stay on track and motivated here at the house. So far, it has been working...Does anybody else do this?

I've thought about a blog, but a housekeeping journal on-line might be too revealing for even me! I don't want the whole world to have access to my dirty little secrets...especialy since they usualy are not very little!

I have my dry erase board sectioned into 3 areas: one for things I need in town, one that is numbered 1-5 for the weekdays where I write my tenetaive housecleaning plans, and another with my extensive sewing list. From there I jot down what I actualy did in my housekeeping journal. Everything from cleaning to what I plan to feed the family and when I started my latest batch of sourdough. As a I deep clean a room I list all of the deficiencies in the room (lots of big things wrong with this house) and then kinda analise what can be fixed and for overall apearance what would be the best way to use my money. I also make barn notes there so I have everything in one place. I find that I am more likely to tend to business if I would have to fess up to being lazy at the end of the day.

I am with Mikki---I begin a project in one room , take something into another room, see something that needs to be done, do it and etc. By the end of the day I am exhausted and my house looks like all I have done is eat bon-bons

I soooo need to do this, I am so unorganized. I always seem to make such things so difficult and go into such detail I lose myself completely. Shameful I know.

I keep a list on a wipe off board on our fridge, I add things as I think of them and then start clean on Sunday. I also do a full cleaning once a week that I sit at breakfast and write out a detailed list, such as bathroom-sink/counter, mirror, toilet, shower, dust all, floor. I do this for every room and cross off each item as I get it done, that way I don't forget anything in any room. I am very forgetful and get sidetracked easy so I have to do this.

No, and I don't intend too, tee hee. Just kidding.
It would probably help me; but, right now; I am running out of room.
We are planning to build our retirement home soon.
I have boxes everywhere in the dinning room.
I do everything but eat in there. Ha.
I have to use it as a quilting room, sewing room and excerise room
I will be glad to get into a new home.
But, I am thankful to have a home to live in now.
Our house is old and it is falling apart. Can't move fast enough for me.
Maybe I will keep one when we get in the new house
I am glad it is working for you. Pinkroses

On line or on paper? Could be a good idea, as long as I don't loose it in the clutter!!!
