Have any of you made a scarecrow hat before? One of my little guys wants to be a scarecrow for Halloween and we are trying to DIY his costume rather than buy it. I have figured out the shirt and the overalls but he still needs a hat. How did you make a hat or how would you make a hat? I would greatly appreciate any ideas. My sewing skills are very minimal, so the easier the better!

Linda, I completely agree. I was very surprised to see how much he loved his costume this year. With his autism it can be very difficult, but I think it's because he is in normal clothes this year that he is very happy with it. If he is happy, then I am happy!

Cute costume, Krista. You know, I just LOVE homemade costumes. They are so much more personable than the store-bought ones that are of synthetics and plastics.
When my son was younger I made most of his costumes - fabrics, thrift stores and old clothes make great costumes, and they are much more comfortable to wear, too.

I have already finished my crochet badges. I only need my expert badge. The crochet part is already done, I just need to teach 3 more people how to crochet.

Here he is all fixed up! I found a bandana that we will try and tie around his neck on Halloween to add a little more. We kept the straw to a minimum because he struggles with textures, so he may not like the bandana either. If so we can stick it in his pocket!

Thank you all for the sweet comments! This Friday we have trick or treat on main street. Our little town does it every year. All the shops along main street participate in handing out candy and sometimes treats or coupons for us adults. The kids will dress up in their costumes. I will take a picture of him on Friday for you all!
