Hello farmgirls-I've missed you terribly and thought I should drop a line or two regarding my husbands pancreatic cancer status. Last year was a very good year for us-we were able to do a lot of work around our old house that we had put off for years. Hubby was feeling well and chemo and radiation wrapped up and he remained stable with occasional ct scans and blood tests to monitor any changes- A few months ago things changed dramatically-he developed ascites and had a paracentesis to remove belly fluid-the fluid contained malignant cells and beginning next week after a PET scan that is scheduled he will begin Chemo again. He is very tired -appetite has gone down and he looks-well, he looks very ill. We knew eventually his cancer would advance (it was determined inoperable at the initial diagnosis) so it was always in the back of our minds. We are hoping the chemo will delay the inevitable if he is able to tolerate the new 'cocktail' our Dr. will be using. We are stunned but have accepted this new reality. Now, we are scrambling to get our house in order-purchasing a plot-talking to our financial advisor, etc. It's so hard watching your husband disappear before your eyes and being unable to stop this horror of a disease. Please continue to pray for my husband and my family-it is so very much appreciated. Love you guys. Mel

I'm praying for you both Melody. It's heartbreaking to hear things have changed so quickly. We are always for you.

Oh Melody, you have been on my mind heavily for the last few months, and now I know why. I have been meaning to write to you and check in, but life seems to get in the way. I am so happy to hear that you had such a good year. Keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers, and may God’s love surround you with love, comfort and peace as you navigate these days and weeks ahead of you. I will write soon, Love and sister hugs, Wanda Sue

A day hemmed in prayer is less likely to unravel.
