Posted - Sep 15 2009 : 8:07:28 PM Each season in Minnesota has distinct changes. Fall is beautiful with leaves of red, yellow, orange and green floating off the trees and golden in the sunlight. The cold air pushes in and November becomes grey with a dry crunchy straw floor until delicate snow comes and covers it all. January is sometimes brutally cold and snowy, covering up the fields which are white against the blue sky. Winter lasts until mid to late April and then the miracle season starts when every green color of the rainbow pops unexpectedly from ground, bushes and trees followed by multicolored flowers, vegetables and herbs. How do you choose between these seasons? Fall probably is my favorite, but then again, how do you choose.

Posted - Sep 15 2009 : 6:14:31 PM I love the change of seasons. We have had cooler, rainy weather lately so the fall baking and sewing/art projects are exciting to think about. I really don't like cold weather for long at all, but when spring makes its first appearance I get engergized. I guess here in this part of Texas it gets so hot in the summer that we sit outside on the porch very late at night and sometimes I miss listening to the crickets and the quitness of summer midnights here. Gee, I guess my favorite seasons is usually the next one coming. I do get envious of all you that get snow. We only get a little and when it happens and we get enough its almost magical, especially early in the morning before it gets messed up.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things. Robert Brault |

Posted - Sep 15 2009 : 6:03:53 PM I think the season is what I make of it. For me, summer's golden moments are watching the sunset on the hill west of our property each night. Fall's moments are sleeping with the window open so I can bury beneath the covers. Winter's are cooking homemade chicken and dumplings on a Sunday afternoon-the aroma is incredible. And spring's is watching the rain play with the landscape like when it cascades down the hillside in the timber east of us.

Posted - Sep 15 2009 : 09:41:35 AM I'm not fond of the cold months, so I think I will say I prefer summer. Summer here officially starts in July. LOL We are currently having cooler nights and I am dreading winter. At least we have our wood supply ready.

Posted - Sep 13 2009 : 3:32:13 PM Fall is the one for me, It's the smells, the way the trees glow and our sunsets are so much better this time of year. I'll be putting out the pumkins and scarecrows tomorrow, I go way overboard with autumn decorating. The baking will start soon, right after the applesauce making. A very blessed Fall to everyone, enjoy this calm season before the holidays arrive.

Posted - Sep 12 2009 : 1:23:11 PM Well I guess summer only because I don't work then . I love spring and fall the pretty colors and a little cooler. Winter can be rough but I have to admit when all my family is at their homes I love a good blizzard. There is a crazy excitement about it all for us crazy enough to live in this place I love "diamond" snow, it sparkles and is so pretty. I could not imagine living anywhere where there weren't all the seasons. -40 gets a little old though at times Rae

Posted - Sep 11 2009 : 10:57:40 PM My favorite season is spring. Its the renewal of life and watching everything turn green out of the cold and darkness of winter. The days are getting longer and I feel so energized. I love the excitment of planning for flowers and gardens and baby animals.

Posted - Sep 09 2009 : 11:21:48 PM Definitely Fall here. The fabulous colors of all the turning leaves. The crispness in the air. Big beautiful pumpkins and gourds. The sky is bluer then than at any other time of the year. I get this nesting urge to make my home warm and comfortable for the long winter ahead.

Posted - Sep 09 2009 : 07:37:16 AM Hmmm... I like all the seasons! I love how by the end of one season I am ready and anxious for the next season. Then there is that honeymoon period where everything is wonderful, and then you are ready for the next one!
I think the only one that doesn't get me that way is spring. Most of the time I still want to hang on to spring because I know summers around here are dry and scorchers! But then the craving for fresh tomatoes hits and I kiss spring good bye and rush into summer!

Posted - Sep 08 2009 : 7:55:18 PM Yup I'm with all the fall lovers.
The summer time is hard for me. I got heat stroke once and ever since, I just can barely take the heat. Fall is nice, and refreshing, I can breath and be outside! And it's the longest time off from summer! lol
The scents, the food, the crispness in the air, the colors, the finally being able to be outside and be comfortable, walking freely with out feeling sick from the heat, the festivals, picking apples, eating all the pumpkin I can eat before exploding! I love every thing about it!
Happy fall ya'll!

Posted - Sep 08 2009 : 05:48:16 AM Spring and fall, definitely. I can get so much done outside because it isn't so blasted hot and humid, and it isn't so cold, wet and humid. In fact, our weather here now is teasing us -- waking up to mornings in the mid sixties, then ending up in the low 90's. Oh, yeah. I am SO ready for fall!

I also love spring!!! Summer is okay but when it gets over 85 degrees then I struggle with the heat!!!
