Well Hal just called me from Montana and he just had one interview and is going in for another today. At the first place they had him do some of the work he would be doing and they complemented him and said he did fantastic and they have invited him back for a second interview on Friday.

The other one he is going to is an interview with the CEO of a marketing firm. He already had applied for the job when he got to talking with one of his old friends from high school who he found out works there and is in a department that works closely with the CEO. They are having a lunch/impromptu interview today. Due to his friend being buddies with this guy, all Hal has to do is impress his socks off.. yikes!!

Sometime this week he gets an interview with the Pepsi company over there too.. He got the guy to laugh on the phone so he thinks thats a good sign.

3 interviews in one week is awesome.. I mean at least people are liking his resume enough to invite him in the door. He can be pretty charming so I think he'll get one of them. It's funny because over here the competition is so fierce for these kinds of jobs that he has only had one interview since October. I guess he picked a good time to pop over there.

Lets keep our collective fingers crossed, ok?

Bobbi

Diane!

Oops! No offense to your side of the state! It's really beautiful over there. My brother and family live in Bonney Lake so I get over there now and again. It's the traffic and amount of people that are too much for me. When my daughter and I were over there last August, I drove to Mt. Rainier NP and the Carbon River entrance. The campground looked like it was full. And I went to Mowich Lake where I hadn't been in years and years. I couldn't believe the crowded parking lot!!!

I can't imagine driving a huge bus (= bookmobile) in King County. I really love your side of the state for its beauty and all of its opportunities (in my "other life" I worked as a park ranger/environmental educator and those kind of opportunities don't seem to exist over here). I'm just a people and traffic weanie!!!

Am I forgiven!?!? Karin

Hey Karin!! What's wrong with "over here" ???? I'll bet I can make you change your mind!! Lots of rural property within King County range!
from: Diane who lives over here and loves it on her acreage!

Bobbi,

I've been going to add a message onto this one for the past couple of days, telling you I'm sending good thoughts your way. But everything already happened before I could. Congratulations!!!

I can understand how ambivalent you are and all of your concerns -- and at the same time, all of the good things about a move and a new location. I always feel like this is a terrible place to get a job for someone like me. I have nine years of college and lots of different kind of experience (except for ten years when I was a wife and mother) and yet the field I'm now in, the library field, is a TERRIBLE one when you're trying to support a family. With low Idaho wages and only part time work with no benefits, I'm part of the working poor. If I'd only had even a small interest in the health care field... I know if I lived somewhere else I could be doing better. King County has a bookmobile job open and the pay is twice what I make plus it's full time with excellent benefits. But I can't see myself living over there. I'm glad that you're able to go to a more rural type area and Hal will be able to make a good living there.

We will miss you but want what is best for you and your family. Hey, you'll always be a Happy Apple Society Farmgirl!!! (I hope I got our chapter name right!)

Keep us updated on things. Blog whenever you need to!!!

Love, Karin

Bobbi,

I guess you just have to look on it as an adventure and a new chapter in your lives. Congrats to your hubby. He must feel sooo good. Moms are tough, but she'll be okay.

Well he got the job.. we're moving... wow.

He starts Monday at a temp place for two weeks just to make up for lost time and money, and then the real job starts Feb 13th. We have decided to try to sell by owner until the real estate season kicks in, and if we dont sell it on our own we'll list with a realitor when the market is better so it doesn't just sit on the market forever like it;s condemned or something...

We're going to hang tight here, and he will come home on the weekends until we sell it.. thats plenty of time to say goodbye to my pretty trees and my garden.

I really wasn't sure if he was going to get something or not over there so I just figured I'd deal with it when it comes and now I am a whole mix of feelings about it now that it's looming.

I'm thrilled that he is employed and that we can start putting my savings back together.. I am happy that he will feel like a manly man for supporting us again.. I am excited about the prospect of building on our own land, I am also terrified about building on our own land.. I am worried I'll be the odd man out once I live in the same area as his whole family.. I am sad to leave my fantastic yard, trees and garden. I'm even more terrifed to tell my mom that he got the job.. she is going to be so MAD at us for leaving... I'm worried that this will damage our relationship beyond repair... I don;t want to leave the moms group I started behind, nor do I want to leave my farmgirl chapter..

yuck I even have butterflies thinking about all thats to come..

regardless life is an adventure and what fun is living if you can't experience new things .... building will be a new adventure for us... resale on that land is going to be fantastic for us so if it all goes south we can recover our investment in it... mom will either have to get over it or not... and it's only 5 hours away I can visit whenever she wants to see the girls... and I have already made up my mind to bloom where I am planted... I can start a new moms group there, and start a new farmgirl chapter while I am at it... just a lot to think about.. the schools are better over there too so thats a plus... phew.. thanks for letting me blog this out here and I hope I am not coming across like the most self absorbed little creature in the world.. but this is going to be HUGE for me I have been in the same area my whole life!

anyway.. blah!

I hear the pitter patter of little people who aren't napping anymore.. back to momming.

Hi Bobbi-
I tried to lv you a msg last night, but the MJF server was hiccuping, I guess.
Best of luck to Hal on his interviews- I'm sending good energy his way.
But, you know, luck is hardly needed- he's a great guy, and any company would be lucky to have him.

Best to all the Whimsies,
Sara

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

Thanks for sharing with us....it's always good to know what's going on so we can keep the prayers going. It sounds like you're being very supportive. Hal has a good thing in you. Remind him of that!!!

Blessings
Catherine
