Posted - Jul 16 2006 : 3:08:53 PM This afternoon I was outside putting my feet in the plastic wading pool I'd set up for my 3-yr-old - it was SO hot here today - my thermometer read 105F at one point! Anyway, I was wearing cotton skirt and a tank top pulled up over my 9-month-pregnant belly and my little guy was running around in his nothingness - we were both just trying to stay cool!!! Our little 3-yr-old neighbor boy walked over to say hello, took one look at my belly and said, "Why is your tummy so fat?" So, I said, "There's a baby in there! We're so excited around here!" He gets this funny little look, waits for a minute, then says, "Did you EAT it???" I just couldn't stop laughing. I explained that no, I didn't eat it, that babies grow there - but wow, it still makes me laugh. My little guy was just looking at me like he had never thought of the idea that his mom had, perhaps, EATEN a BABY!!!
XOXO, Libbie

Posted - Jul 18 2006 : 08:44:04 AM i think if you have been pregnant more than once you are bond to come across some litte tike that thinks you ate a kid. I am not sure why other than most kids didn't grow up on farms and don't know first hand where babies come from and parents are to shy.
have a lovely day and may God bless you and keep you safe

Posted - Jul 18 2006 : 08:33:13 AM Oh my!! Toooo Cute!! I loved those stories!
Here are a few more...
It reminded me of a little girl that I watch sometimes and she does not like to be tossed up high as some children do, so wanting to play with one of the dads who was throwing kids up but not wanting to go high approached him with a very serious face and said "Could I have a turn please, but not to high you might bump my head on the clouds" we all had such a hard time keeping straight faces!!!
Then a little girl I use to help her mother with back as a kid myself, was just learning to go potty all by herself. She was in the bathroom going potty and I was busy getting a snack ready for her while her very pregnant mother rested. All of a sudden there was a soft thud followed by silence and then ear piercing screams!! Her mother and I rushed to the bathroom sure she had been seriously hurt, only to knock into her while trying to enter the bathroom. The back of the bathroom door had a full length mirror and the little girl was standing there looking at her back side screaming. She kept trying to tell us something but neither I nor her mother could figure it out. We finally calmed her down enough to understand her and she sobbed "I fell down and broke my bubkus". Apparently the poor thing had never seen her own backside before and after falling had wanted to check herself for damage and discovered that there is a crack back there!!! God love her...it took a while for us to compose ourselves enough to calm her and with serious faces explain to her that all "bubkuses" were like that and hers was fine!!!
Quite a few years back I was taking care of a little boy right after Christmas and he brought a little kids fishing pole which he was clutching ever so tightly. After his mom had left I bent over and said "Nathen, did you get that for Christmas?" He rolled his eyes and said "no silly its for fishing!" LOL! He ment no disrespect and honestly thought I did not know! I will never forget it as long as I live!!!
Kids are the best and the cutest!!!
Hugz to all and thanks for the stories!!

Posted - Jul 17 2006 : 11:27:22 PM LOL! Kids are great. My 5 year old truly believes that he has a belly button because after all my hard work having him, I was so hungry, that I took a bite out of his belly. My husband has him believing that all mommy's bite their baby's belly right after they are born, hence our belly buttons!

Posted - Jul 16 2006 : 7:48:15 PM That is too cute Libbie! That remindes me of another funny time: I went over to a friends house to see their new baby son that had just arrived home from the hospital. His 5 year old sister was very proud of him and was telling me all about him. She said see that? She was pointing to what was left of his belly button cord. "Ya know what that is"...."thats his EXTENSION CORD"!!!! She was so matter of fact, I was rendered speachless!! Too funny!
