Well ladies, I have an interview tomorrow for a new job. I am currently working 5 days a week and have only gotten a quarter raise since starting here. Plus I work 37 per week and do not get any holiday/vacation/sick days. The last time I stayed home with a sick child I was suspended for a day and put on probation. SO... I have this opportunity to work for a sculpture park with various artists ( I would be in the office)BUT .. heres the great part, I would make the same amount of money working only 3 days a week that I make now working 5. Yippeeee for me. So....

I need you good luck prayers for tomorrow- I really want this job! It is only 9 miles from my house and I would be able to spend more time with my children and working on my farm.

Check out the place at www.franconia.org

thanks gals!

So sorry, Beth. But... I think there must be something better down the road. I know you're sad, but don't get discouraged. Keep looking.

Beth,I've been out of town and just now read your update. I'm really sorry you didn't get the position. You have a great attitude and I'm confident something even better will come your way.

Thanks Kelly- I did in fact splurge on ice cream. I had a fresh peach cut up and put a little dollop of ice cream on top. It was so yummy! I am keeping my chin up, thanks to my dear farmgirl friends.

Ellen- your nice email made me smile, I know you are walking with me as I feel your love and support. You are a dear friend!

Beth, I feel your pain. I didn't lose a job opportunity today but found out I lost the bid on the"perfect" farm for my family. I think the two of us should have a big pity party and invite all our farmgirl friends, they understand. I am trying to take the attitude that God has a greater plan I just wish I could have a hint. I know let's go get ice cream!!!!! Hang in there, something big is coming, I can feel it!

Thanks for the support. You all make me feel better. I am going to keep looking, though I am still employed -thankfully I did not give notice yet.

Kathy -I have not forgotten, your apron is almost done and Iwill send out the package to you ASAP.

Beth -- You did such a great job during that interview and made their decision a tough one . . . the extra background in art made the difference. Yes, it is disappointing. Be sure to keep open to the next opportunity -- there IS a better job waiting out there for you. And you certainly can take confidence from doing this interview. (I'm glad they called you -- some places just leave you hanging and never let you know.) Blessings. Kathy L

Well ladies, unfortunately I did not get the position. They just called and let me know, which totally sucks but hey, maybe there's a better one down the road. She did say that it was between myself and someopne else and that it was very tough to decide but because the other person had a bigger art background they chose her. I am sad.

Well I have just returned from the interview which lasted an hour (is that a good sign) and I think it went well. I have the skills that they are looking for and also had some helpful suggestions for new programs they are just looking into. It felt "right", like a place I really want to be with people that are like minded. We even talked a little sustainable agriculture, organics and yes even farmgirl, as they asked me of my interests. they have a CSA through a local organic farm. They loved the barter idea, as they are a non=profit and get many donations. During the interview various artists would wander through and the busy-ness of the place felt right at home since I have 4 kids, 4 cats and a saint bernard. They said I should hear from them soon and they want to start someone right away. Bonus is that they even pay for holidays /sick days and vacation days. I looked up at their calendar on the wal and commented that I loved the way they color coded everything, then I proceeded to open my own planner and sure enough, I have mine color coded too. This made them chuckle, great minds and all!

Well I will keep you all posted as soon as I hear anything. I sent them an email thanking them for their time and how much I enjoyed meeting with them. Here's hoping..........
