Posted - Aug 17 2006 : 06:44:37 AM Did you all see that they finally made an arrest in JonBenet Ramsey's murder case? I read the short article last night and cried....That poor little girl, and her harrassed family. I am so happy they finally caught the person who did it. Hopefully JonBenet's mother can rest peacefully now. I just read the updated article on MSN and this man confessed! He said it was 2nd degree murder because it was an accident, I hope that they nail him with everything they can in Colorado. At the end of the article the AP also said that he may be a suspect in Santa Rosa, Ca but the DA wasn't sure it was the same man, it was the same exact NAME! Oh I really hope that this is all over now.... having girls of my own I feel for all these parents, I would feel the same way if I had boys too. Take Care and remember God watches all! ~Liz |

Posted - Aug 22 2006 : 06:36:19 AM It's hard to say if Karr is the one or not BUT he is sick. Im not sure I understand all that great food & champagne on his flight, they said they wanted to loosen him up. In a court of law, if alcohol was involved , it wouldn't stand up anyway. Who knows but at least he's not walking the streets & maybe hurting someone else.

Posted - Aug 21 2006 : 10:53:08 AM I agree with Liz and Patti on this one. I'm watching and waiting to sit back and see how this whole thing developes. I appreciate Mr. Ramsey's incredible constraint as I'm not sure I could. Karr may just be sick beyond repair.
I think one of the best things that ever happened to me was to have worked for the Texas Dept. of Criminal Justice, Texas' prison system. I worked as a Agriculture Supervisor - Livestock. It shaped and molded how I think about those who are incarcerated. I went to work there in favor of the death penalty. I left feeling the death penalty serves no purpose. I find it is not a cruel punishment. The worse thing that can happen to a person is knowing they will die separated from family and love ones, no matter how disfunctional their family may be. Yes, the society within a prison itself is warped and truly disfunctional. If I had not had my devote Christian beliefs I think I too, would have become warped beyond repair. I also have become a very strong advocate in, "Proven Guilty Beyond A Reasonable Doubt." It would not be a good thing to put me on a jury. I remember being selected for jury duty towards the end of my tenure at TDCJ, and becoming exceedingly angry at the Asst. DA and how during jury selection he had molded those in the room into believing this youth was guilty of the crime he was "accused" of. I've also had to testify in two criminal trials while employed by TDCJ. A very interesting experience. Result, I choose to obey the law....it's just too easy to wind up in a prison. Being in prison physically is not a hard thing to live through. The hard thing is being striped of your individuality. In otherwards you become a number, a body, that is no different to the body standing next to you. That is what makes prison terrible. I also think TDCJ became one of the worse things that happened to me. I know longer trust men or women. Trust is something that I know longer give out readily.
With that said, at least Karr is off the street. He is a sick individual. He needs to be kept away from the rest of us. I think somewhere they will be able to find a way to keep him locked up.
Please if your curious about my experiences, I don't mind telling you some of them....BUT.....this is not the forum for that discussion. You can email me and ask. I like to be blunt in this area....as I hope I would be able to touch just one person to keep them from making a mistake and winding up in a place they truly do not want to be. If you do not want blunt don't email me.

Posted - Aug 21 2006 : 09:19:17 AM Julie, yes, I remember that. She didnt get as much attention as JonBenet. I think ANY child no matter who they are should get all the attention needed. Its so frightening & sickening.

Posted - Aug 21 2006 : 08:59:30 AM He's now being looked at in the disappearnce of Morgan Nick a little girl from Arkansas that went missing in 1995. The similarity in the guys face and the composite of the abductor is scarey! You may have seen Morgans mom on Extreme Home MAkeover last year. What a wonderful woman! Such a sad situation.

Posted - Aug 20 2006 : 12:06:51 PM it's a horrible, horrific, disgusting, senseless, stupid and gutless thing to do to anyone let alone a 6 year old child. I can't even bring myself to think about what she suffered. My only speck of any kind of bright spot in this at all is JonBenet and Patsy are together again. I believe they, together will bring the "thing" that did this to justice!

Posted - Aug 18 2006 : 10:21:09 AM As a parent, I think it would be so "easy" to accept the first confession or suspect as being guilty because you would want so badly for justice to be done. You'd want answers. But, like you said, John Ramsey isn't doing that. I agree that this is really commendable.
I can't imagine what he's going through, but even more so, what his son is going through. He's lived with this most of his young life, he just lost his mother after a battle with cancer, and now this. I don't remember how old he is, but this would be so hard for a teen, young adult, etc. to deal with. The family has done an outstanding job of keeping him out of the limelight.

Posted - Aug 18 2006 : 09:51:42 AM I saw the newer news pieces and I see what you mean by he may not have done it.....But how cruel is it for him to say those things? I understand more if he is truely mentally ill and believes he did do it. I am very impressed by Mr. Ramsey, he has said that he doesn't want to jump right on this but let the authorities do their jobs. He must have great faith.

Posted - Aug 18 2006 : 08:29:30 AM I don't honestly think this is the guy. The news updates explain that he has a history of mental illness and that his ex-wife has proof that they were not in Colorado (I forget what state she says they were in -- Arkansas or something maybe) at the time of the murder.
I hope someday they find answers, but wouldn't be surprised if they never do.
