Hi Everyone

In 2003 I had a miscarriage and also again in 2004. I found out I am pregnant again and I think I am about 7 weeks along.

Please keep me and my maybe baby in your prayers as I need all the help I can get!

Alee

Hi Ladies-

I still am feeling pretty yucky. I think it is compounded by stress right now. I am kindof up in the air about what is going to happen in the near future. I am hoping to either get a job or go home but I have some buisness in Moscow that I have to wrap up before I can make any decisions. I am still waiting on the insurance company to get back to me on the mutilation and destruction of my Bug. Plus I am under subpeona to appear to testify against a kid in court in January.

The pregnancy is doing okay I so far. My next appointment is at the end of this month. Thanks for all your love and support ladies- it helps a lot!

Alee,
Congratulations! I will be praying for you. I know it is frightening to even hope after the kind of experiences you have had (I've been there too), but God can do wonderful things. I was told that I would never carry a child to term and have had four healthy babies.

Greetings, Alyssa! So happy to hear your exciting news. You have been given lots of good advice already I see, but I wanted to mention something my OB/GYN told me when I discovered I was pregnant with my second son. When he examined me he said my uterus was slightly tipped and that can cause problems early in pregnancy as the fetus begins to grow. Anyway, he repositioned it, and told me to get in bed on all fours like a dog and lean my head on the pillow, for a few minutes every day til my next appointment; the shift in gravity would ease the uterus back into place. My uterus apparently prefers the tipped position because several times during pap exams over the years the OB/GYN has commented on that. Anyway, God bless you and keep you happy and healthy; keep us updated!! Nance

Alee, the very best to you! My daughter is 7 1/2 weeks along too - and her first try was a miscarriage (caused by the improper attachment of the umbilical cord - no one's fault, just the way it happens in nature at times) and you're right, alot of pregnancies end in miscarriage. My daughter's sister in law had three at various times, but also has 5 normal healthy active children. Good Luck! Let us know if its girl or boy. Will pray for a healthy baby for you!

I've asked Jesus to wrap his cross around you and your precious little one. Prayer can change anything...remember that. Sorry you got morning sickness....maybe this is a good sign! Love to you both.

Alee, Cngratulations and sending all my best wishes your way. Hope you are feeling a bit better now! I recently had a miscarriage too and I know how awful it can be. I'm still trying to decide whether to try again (I do already have three children).
Anyway best wishes and I'm sure with all these girls behind you, all will go smoothly!

Hi Ladies!

Thanks for all your kind words and support. I had my first appointment with the nurse at our local ob/gyn. They handle all pregnancy types from high risk to low risk. My first visit with the doctor is on the 6th. I have decided not to have any of the genetic tests done as there is not a high risk at all in my family, and even if a test did come up positive for something- I don't think I could bear to have an abortion.

One statistic I read said that 1-3 pregnancies result in a miscarriage. Both of my previous miscarriages were 2 months or less. Some women don't even know that they are pregnant at that point and just think their period was late. Also my thyroid has been checked and it is fine. The first two were probably just meant to prep me and my boyfriend to be parents.

Last night was the most miserable night! I woke up to go to the bathroom and was besieged by horrible heart burn. I took some heart burn medicine that is OK for pregnancy and tried to eat- then of course I got the worst bout of morning sickness I have had! lol If the baby can make me this miserable- then I am sure everything is OK. With the first two I hardly had any symptoms.

Thanks :)

Alee

Here's another thought, have you had your thyroid checked thoroughly, meaning more than the standard blood test. I was doing some research on thyroid issues for my own Dad...it mentions miscarriages as being related to thyroid problems. Here is a link to the article I found:

Don't you just love us farmgirl buddies who get right in your business...are we worse/better than sisters, or what???)

Good luck, Alee. We're here for ya...

P.S. My bday is May 1st, could you try to work that into your schedule?

How wonderful Alee...congrats! I will keep you and the little one in my prayers for sure.
I had a miscarriage my first pregnancy too and then went on to have very uncomplicated easy pregnancies and births for my two oldest boys. I hope for the same for you! It is an exciting time. Take care!!

Alee,
I agree with Jo, seriously think about going to a high risk specialist.
They are usually called "Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist" They are a neonatologist and high risk OBGYN.
Check it out! Made all the difference in the world with my tough pregnancies.
Good luck, and lots of love!

Me too, Alyssa. I'll keep you in my thoughts.

What a wonderful, scary, happy, hesitant, hopeful, cautious, excited, wondrous place you are in right now.

My hope and prayer for you is to stay calm and look forward only to a happy and healthy term pregnancy and delivery. Maybe the old saying that "The 3rd time is the charm" will prove true for you?

I know you will be taking very good care of yourself and you know that lots of positive energy and prayers are being sent your way.

Are you going to be considered a high-risk pregnancy and if so, are you seeing an OBGYN/midwife etc. who specialize in situations like yours?

Give this one every possible benefit and chance that you can; and if it is not meant to be, don't let yourself be swamped with guilt that you somehow caused a miscarriage. The miracle of birth is exactly that, and I am always amazed when I think of ALL of the processes that have to function absolutely right in a developing fetus in order for it to become a full-fledged baby; it is a wonder that so many times it does go the way it should.

Keep us posted, and I am so very happy and excited for you at this special time in your life.
