Posted - Aug 18 2006 : 08:33:28 AM Yesterday was the big day -- he loaded his car with clothes, computer, food, etc., and fil's truck with a couch, bow target, etc., and off we went. The check-in at his condo complex was the smoothest thing I've ever encountered, we unloaded all his stuff, went to eat, and we came home. Long day!
I think it was harder this year than last, when he was a freshman. All last school year I looked forward to having him home this summer and then, because of the move & his job in town, etc., he lived with my mom and I didn't get to see him much at all. I'm fairly certain he'll stay there next summer and go to summer school, so this may have been the last extended period he would have been with us.
So for all of you ladies taking kids back to college now, I'll be thinking of you and praying for your safe travel.

Posted - Aug 18 2006 : 08:57:00 AM I am still trying to get all my kids into elementary school. In time I will have to see them go to collage but the first doest go for 10 more years and the last has 14 years. So it is still a little out there for me. We had kids late in most people eyes. But I don't think that makes it any easier in the long run. I hope next summer you get more quality time with your son.
have a lovely day and may God bless you and keep you safe my web store www.sunshines.etsy.com my blog http://sunshinescreations.blogspot.com/ my google page http://sunshine.harbaugh.googlepages.com/home |

Posted - Aug 18 2006 : 08:40:06 AM I don't have kids yet, so I can't really relate, but I remember how I felt about going home. Kind of excited to go away but at the same time, I didn't want to leave.
