Posted - Aug 30 2010 : 08:00:22 AM I am not sure how to add on this topic..I am new to the site...but I was thinking maybe a seasonal breakdown of ideas for chapters of a book with a spread of topics and ideas.......Like winter chores or baking or animal care , or home jobs, or crafts or community items...anyway...that was an idea I thought might be a nice layout for fun ideas :)

Posted - Dec 12 2010 : 3:08:48 PM I think a chapter on using tools would be good. Also badges for reuse of goods. I am thinking for my chapter to send the girls to the goodwill and have them repurpose something. It would be so great to keep stuff out of the landfill. We made flower pins out of old bridemaid dresses/liners from jackets. I've made a table center peice from a chandlier, table leg and light collar. I think you can repurpose both big and small items it is just a matter of training the eye to look outside of the box before you dispose of something. When we took up our deck last summer some of the wood was still really good so we made new chairs and footstools. I also found curbside some windows and made some cold frames.Once you know how to use the basic tools or as I told my girls have a friend who does...you just decide to do it and dial them up. Posted - Nov 07 2010 : 6:24:54 PM I've always thought this would make a great book, too. It would be great for people like me who feel like we are re-inventing the wheel and doing mass amounts of research on how to do things, rather than doing things. I've even searched for a book like this that would be a month to month guide on what to do to live a simple farmgirl life.
If anyone knows of a book like this let me know?
I guarantee tons of farmgirls would be all over this, b/c many of us just need guidance to help keep us organized.
Oh how I wish she would write a book like this. It would almost be like your own personal mentorship with MJ.

Posted - Sep 01 2010 : 7:50:09 PM I like that idea too. Funny thing is, everyone is so busy at this time of year we'll have to let Mary Jane do it. She'll make it another great book anyhow.
