Posted - Feb 14 2009 : 8:14:23 PM Ok so this isn't exactly a "Barnyard Buddy",,,but we use to have fun feeding the Scrub Jays when we lived in Moorpark, California....they were really very friendly & LOVED peanuts....so much so that "Scrubs" as we called him, would 'knock' on my kitchen Garden Window to let me know he wants a peanut!!!lol! This is my DH holding "Scrubs" for this pic.
I miss all my Jays, but thank goodness our neighbors on the Cul-d-sac enjoyed feeding the Jays too.

Posted - Feb 15 2009 : 05:39:20 AM Grace, that's a good picture. And I think it qualifies as a barnyard buddy. We have tons of birds that eat chicken feed and are all over the pasture out there. So I consider them buddies. That bird looks even friendlier than a chicken.
So if you can't have chickens, birds are the next best thing. Too bad you couldn't eat the eggs, though!
