Posted - Jun 28 2010 : 06:25:41 AM So I have an adult rooster who keeps chasing around a hen who is about three months old. He won't leave her alone and keeps trying to...um, love her. She runs all over the yard sqwaking and hollering trying to get away from him. Is this normal, or he is being a jerk? I walked out and told him she's a little young for him and he should hang with the hens his own age, but he won't let up. How to proceed? My husband, the cop, said he's going to arrest him for first degree criminal sexual misconduct. ;)

Posted - Jun 28 2010 : 7:37:59 PM I know she's new...but there are four other new hens out there from the same batch as she came from. So I'm wondering why she specifically and none of her "sisters" are the hot item!!

Posted - Jun 28 2010 : 6:49:45 PM Whats special is that she is new, and he does'nt care that shes jailbait, like every one said he will run her into the ground.

Posted - Jun 28 2010 : 1:15:48 PM I'd separate, but tell your husband to keep the handcuffs ready....he might have to make an arrest. Poor little hen.

Posted - Jun 28 2010 : 07:39:48 AM I'd agree. Roosters can be relentless and he'll practically run her to death. I'd seperate her until she is a little bit bigger. Are there other hens?

Posted - Jun 28 2010 : 07:14:33 AM Sounds like the rooster is too much for the hen right now. Might want to wait until the hen gets more size to her.
Meantime you might want to separate one or the other. |
