16 little chicks arrived yesterday morning. They added a Jersey Giant for a packing peanut. Sadly, one of the Rocks was dead, and hubby almost threw out the box thinking another one was dead, before I grabbed it out. It was just barely moving, but some sugar water revived it within an hour. One of the JG's was just sitting, and it died during the afternoon. Another one died during the night. :( The rest of them seem to be thriving, but when I think of all that could go wrong, especially bringing them in with an existing flock....the little ones are just too cute though, I'll try to put pics up later!
5 Partridge Rocks, 5 Sussex's, 5 New Jersey Giants....
I'm so excited!!! Hoping they will be here tomorrow....
I am also hoping that I won't have to buy chicks anymore. My plan is to have my own chicks in the spring as these 15 are all straight run and I have 22 hens right now.
Barred Rocks x Partridge Rocks, Buff Orpingtons x Jersey Giants, Sussex X New Hampshire Red...... see where I'm going?!!! lol!
For now though, just looking forward to little peeps, and the antics of days old chicks!

Aw, bummer! Sorry that so many of them died. I hope that things go better from here on out!
