My DD and SIL are here from South Carolina and they brought my granddoggies with them! My DH is a vet-tech and has four rescue dogs.

I am so proud of your family for taking those pups in. I would have a house full if Hubby would let me. Since my Mom lives with us, I can't even keep my own large dogs in the house. I am afraid they would make her fall :(

Awesome. My heart is with the elderly and dogs. I would have every dog that needed a home if I could. Bless you all. Beautiful family.

Diane,
I enjoyed the picture when I saw it but with the story of the dogs it is so much more! Most of the dogs we've had over the last 35 years have been rescue dogs or adopted strays, they have all been loved and appreciated.

Thanks ladies! I am pretty proud. All these dogs have a story to tell. They are all rescues. The English Bulldog (Tank) is a $3000 dog from Hungary that the original owners paid for and paid to have her shipped here and then sat her in a kennell for two years with no excercise or attention. When my daughter got her she was overweight, had bad cherry eye and a nail fungus. The Boxer (Baxter) was 2 hours from being euthanized for aggressive behavior. The previous owners kept him in a kennell also and the kids of the house threw stuff at him. He has been the hardest one to rehabilitate. He has come such a long way and is such a wonderful companion for my daughter when her DH is deployed. The next litte baby is Dozer, a pitbull mix that was abandoned at the age of 10 weeks with hook worms, mange and a heart murmur. The Vet at my daughters job said she should "put her down". But Shannon just couldn't. She does have some medical problems still but she is the sweetest soul you could ever meet. Last but not least is Vixon, their first dog. She was a rescue puppy from a high kill shelter. Her name definately fits. We have been having some dog gone fun the last few days. Going to dog parks and taking lots of walks. I had a doggie sleep over last night!
There are no bad dogs...just bad owners.

I'm with Mel.... I like reading about our furry friends but I REALLY love it when we get to see pics. I puts a whole different emotion to the story. That Baxter is soooo cute. I love how his lip is curled up. tee hee hee

I'm so busy I don't know if I just found a rope or lost my horse!

I've seen family pictures where they can't get 4 kids to look at the camera at once. These doggies are doing very well.
It's good that they are all welcome and loved.

What a great photo Diane! They all look so cute :) I love the pups names.

Dozer was actually a nickname my family gave my mom because she would fall asleep watching TV. One year for Mother's Day I embroidered a cotton pillowcase with lamb napping on it and the name 'dozer' :)

Aw! Diane, I have a granddog just like Baxter. Except she's a Daisy. THE most spoiled dog ever. She has a closet full of clothes. And a room full of toys. She's a really good dog. Well mannered. I love her.

I am so glad they are all there to visit. Hope ya'll have a grand time together.
