yesterday i broke an egg the same way i do every day of the week and it was totally empty! now i have seen shell-less eggs but never an empty one! peace connie

That usually means either a very young hen starting to lay, or an older one saying "That's it, I'm done." She may be just getting ready to moult and is done for the summer.
