Posted - Aug 26 2010 : 2:58:42 PM Oh my goodness, for the past few days my poor cow girls have been tormented by horse flies. It's awful. I have been standing out there with a fly swatter killing them like crazy. They are bleeding and miserable. I am out of fly spray and can't get anymore til tomorrow. I just mixed up some lemongrass oil and water and sprayed that on them. I don't think it's helping. I know Teresa said to use orange oil but I don't have any. Is there anything I can use that I might have at home til I can get something tomorrow? Help!
Kris

Posted - Aug 28 2010 : 1:53:34 PM I always mix ACV in with my flyspray for the horses. It makes them sneeze something terrible but it helps a lot. I have to use natural pesticides because I am allergic to the chemical ones. The ACV just gives it an added punch.

Posted - Aug 27 2010 : 3:31:44 PM Well, I never even thought of ACV. I went to TC today and got some more spray. I mixed up a qt. spray bottle and sprayed them both then just poured it on their backs. Poor cowgirls. They are so unhappy with all these horrid flies all over them. This helped alot though. I need to get some of those waspd that kill the flies.
Thanks for the help.
