Silly dogs--
One of the gifts I bought my husband was a nice pair of leather fur lined gloves for Christmas, because his hands are always cold, and he never will buy any himself. I wrapped them up and put them under the tree a few days ago.

This morning, he said, "who are those gloves for?" I didn't have my contacts in yet, and I was in the bathroom, so I said, "what gloves".."those brown leather ones, with soft cuffs..." and I thought he'd found my gloves on the chair (it would be like him NOT to notice the same gloves I've been wearing for 4 years!!!!) so I just didn't answer.

So, I got my contacts in and went to look, and there were his new gloves, unwrapped and still looking like I'd just pulled them out of the shopping bag. No sign of the box, no sign of the bow--just gloves, in perfect condition.
Weird (but VERY good) dogs. They literally ate the box and bow, but not fur lined leather gloves!

Just think of all of the roads there are...all of the things I haven't seen....yet.

About 3 years ago, I had a terrable time getting hubby a present that would last until Christmas. First, he kept opening all my packages (3 of them) when the mailman droped by while I was out. Then the silly UPS man decided to DROP a package over the gate and drive off and two puppies mauled the package and the contents. One was a video hubby had been wanting for forever, it was a bit chewed on the corners but when I popped it in the VCR it still played so that went under the tree. I still think he was trying to see how many gifts I would buy him before giving up.

I once had a small terrier (Sadie) who worked in tandem with the cat. The cat would knock the fresh gingerbread ornaments off the tree and the dog would then eat them. Every time I'd come home from work, there'd be more cookies missing. Finally found her stash of the little red ribbons I'd used to hang them.

Our dog has run off with a stocking that had beef jerky sticks in it! Took the whole darn thing right under our noses and carried it out to the yard! I think they possess intelligence that we seriously underestimate, those sneaky devils!

with a happy heart
