Posted - Feb 28 2007 : 10:06:52 PM I'm working on a disaster preparedness program for our town these days, and I found this great household checklist from the New York State Department of Health [http://www.health.state.ny.us/environmental/indoors/home_safe_home/safehome.htm]. I think it would be a great thing to incorporate into spring cleaning this year - it goes room by room, just like I do when I do heavy cleaning. While not everything applies to every house, there are some really good tips. Keep safe!

Posted - Mar 18 2007 : 09:53:55 AM Michele - so do we! I'm not sure if it's because we're really rural or if there's something wrong, but it never fails - at least a couple of times a year we lose power, not (yet!) for more than a few hours at a time.

I just personally found these two checklists really good information. Not so much for a toxin-free "Home Safe Home," but for a "safe from events" type of safety.
