Posted - Jan 31 2008 : 2:32:36 PM It has been a while. Life has been crazy here, and recently my hubby broke his ankle..he is laid up at home. In order to keep my stress level down I am doing some handsewing. My machines are in need of repair so I can only sew by hand. I am working on mini quilts.. I am looking to trade one of my handwoven wool shawls for quilting supplies.. fabric- fat quarters, scraps, muslin, yardage etc.. trims-ribbon, rickrack, embroidery floss, buttons etc..., batting..quilting magazines for inspiration, embroidery patterns, hoops etc... I have a shawl on the loom I have to finish first so we can negotiate for a while. You can see my shawls on my website http://woolieacres.net Thanks for considering- it is going to be a long haul. We are broke (he lost 75% of his income last month) and then this. So I barter for things I need or want.

Posted - Feb 01 2008 : 10:21:12 AM I am interested. I am a longtime quilter so I would need to know what you like, interests, etc are. I would also like to know what the color(s) are in the shawl. If it gets to me let me know.

Posted - Feb 01 2008 : 08:46:48 AM Wow Debra! Your shawls are beautiful! I absolutely love the one pictured on the bike! I too would love one of these, but it looks like there are a lot of gals who beat me to it! If you have enough to meet the queue ahead of me and still more to barter please let me know as I would certainly love to barter with you. I too have lots of fabric, scraps, quilting magazines. |

Posted - Jan 31 2008 : 7:48:07 PM I have two shoe boxes stuffed with vintage quilt squares, if you thought that would be worth a trade. My `14 year old daughter would love a shawl. We are shepherdesses and we also are in a living history program where we dress in "period" clothes, etc. We are in the frontier/trapper period. It would be awesome! I should say that the boxes have pieces, some are not squares, they are triangles. Let me know! Jennifer

Posted - Jan 31 2008 : 3:52:14 PM I'd love to also send you some fabric for one of your shawls, what colors do you like, what magazines do you like? I have a whole sewing room full of old magazins from years past, my mom was an avid collector and has since then gotten my Great Aunt Hazel's stash too.
