Hi girls! I'm doing everything humanly possible to make money at home right now, there are no jobs out there! Please help me out trying to figure out some of the ideas I've had and started...I just need to get some answers and finish!

First, I'm starting a bartering blog to help me clear some things out here and my hope is to trade for things I can use for Christmas (either things that will help me make things or things made that I can give) So frustrating!! So...how do I handle who wants what? First one to comment on the blog or first one to email? I want to be fair.

Second, we live so far out that it's impossible to have a decent garage sale, I have a basement filled with our things, my parents (when they moved) and grandparents things - you name it...I probably have it! So I've considered doing an "online" garage sale. So now...what to use? A blog or website? I was going to have people email me the items that they wanted which would be numbered and have a date for pick up on their confirmation email that they would have to bring along at the time of pick up. Any info would be helpful in setting this up also!! I do have an ebay store and I've found a good drop-shipper and am starting a storefront their also, with ebay however you have to pay to list as well as final value fee...I have so much I just want to pack up for example all size 12 jeans in a box of 10 and sell them as a box amount.

Any help would be appreciated! It's just getting tough over here and I need to get something moving as quickly as I can!! Thanks so much!! Farmgirl hugs!!

If you decide to have one at your house.....advertise it as a vintage estate sale...... it may draw the antique hunters looking for vintage.... YOu could put flyers up arouond town in stores about it too

Thanks gals!! Getting ready to get this up and moving! I've never heard of TradeKey, I'll have to check that one out! I'd really like to start making my own things to sell and listing on etsy but I really have to get this house cleaned out first!! I wish I could just have a "walk through my house" garage sale! LOL:)

I have had unexpected good luck selling things on TradeKey.com. It seems to primarily be visited by the Asian and eastern European market. You list the price right there, and list that the buyer pays shipping, and arrange it so they must do a wire transfer into your bank prior to shipping. I have read feedback comments that some people's deals haven't worked out, but I must say, mine have. It's wortha try in this difficult economy. good luck with this!!

getting ready.....

hello, i sell stuff on e-bay. I agree with Brooke, some things do go wrong and it can be very frustrating. But with e-bay you get so many people looking at items and its really nice for those little oddball things you have lying around that you are not sure what to do with. I hope this helps

I agree with Michele - put it on etsy if it's vintage, and also sell some things on the marketplace here, and do bartering in the bartering section - I always take the first person - period - who asks - usually I get the bartering responses on the thread itself. I am in sort of the same situation as you and have alot of stuff to barter but I'd like to get things that are useful to me so I have had a great time doing that. The shipping can get pricey but usually the barter makes it worth it! I always pay for shipping to whomever I send to and I expect (personally) that it be like-wise. Some girls might be different but that's how I like it to work. I also agree with craigslist too. I have had bad times with ebay and refuse to sell through them. They have also double-charged me on fees for no reason and you never get a good response back or anything - if you don't get paid from the buyer, don't expect to get anything back -- and vice versa. They have terrible customer service and it gets EXPENSIVE!

You can always sell vintage items on Etsy or ebay. I would choose etsy first as the people there are friendlier to deal with.

I was thinking of Craigslist as one of the places I'll advertise - I just have so much I'd like to have it all listed and pictured at one location...
