Hello, Ladies!
I'm looking for some 8 ball squash seeds. It could be just 8 or ten seeds dated from the last couple of years.
I have some 2 unopened packets of " Homemade Pickles" cucumber pickles to trade. They are from 2009. I also have open packets of 2 heirloom summer squash. Nothing fancy, just " Black Beauty" zucchini and " Early yellow Crookneck." They look just like the stuff I grew up eating in the 70's and 80's. I have a new packet of Big Max pumpkin from 2009.
I also have a bunch of " old" heirloom tomato seeds. All of them are 5 yrs old, but I did throw a few seeds of an early variety , Stupice, right out into my garden to see what they would do, and they all came up, 100%. I guess it may be a little late to start tomatoes, but if you are interested in old varieties, give me a yell. We moved and I just ended up buying tomato starts this yr.
If you don't have 8 Ball squash, my son hopes to plant cantelope and watermelon that do well in the South. I've spent my garden budget already, and those darn little packkets do add up!
Thanks, Y'all!!

If you e mail sisterhoodhopeful@maryjanesfarm.org, they will send you a sample. It is a neat little newsletter, the crafts and recipes are always great. I am off to bed, probley to dream about those beatiful horses.

Forget buns of steel, I'd rather have buns of cinnamon!

You need at least 4 for a drill team.
They are " golden chunky heart stealers!" Mainly pony height horses built like a draft horse. Golden chestmut with extra full flaxen manes and tails. They can do just about anything. Rugged easy keepers.
For kicks, check out www.haflingerhorses.com
I have a gelding and a mare, plus my cousin's gelding is with us right now.
SO MUCH FUN!

Ok Mary, what is a haflinger and how many do you need for a drill team?
I am the featured farmgirl this month in the Cluck, and there I am, holding an 8 ball zucchini!

Hi Carol,
I love that squash, too. It keeps so well, and it tastes really good somehow! We just moved to TX and I learned that 8 Ball does well here-
I'll come up with some, I just know it!

I thought I had some 8 ball seeds but I don't. I loved cooking with that shape squash. I hope you get some, Carol
