Being able to share things I no longer need or can use with someone who can. AND, it has been just AWESOME SPECTACULAR to barter with farmgirls who knit, crochet and tat. AND the soaps, lotions and potions . . . I don't make these things (at least not yet) and it's been WONDERFUL to barter for thses goodies. I've received some of the MOST GORGEOUS items: shawls, slippers, afghans, doilies, dishcloths, potholders and such. They are QUALITY and some of the items become gifts for family . . . I LOVE IT!!!!
You farmgirls ROCK!!!!

The government isn't involved and neither is money. Just good stuff that I have going to someone who needs/wants it and vice versa! I barter all the time with friends, customers, students, farmers, you name it! In fact, I'm looking for a pair of cowboy boots for myself and want to barter for them.

Since I am a newbeeee... for me, It is reaching out & learning more about fellow farm girls. I have been sending seeds to many people.. not only here on the farm. I giggle knowing, someone is getting a gift in the mail, and they don't even know about it yet!!!!!

...knowing that what I don't need anymore is going to someone who will actually use it! And I always enjoy getting to know more about the people I'm bartering with. You just never know where a new friendship will start. :)

Finding new homes for things that I don't want anymore and getting something that I actually do want, and it's fun!!!

It is just so fun to get the package in the mail. It is always a surprise. It is funny...because when I exchange with Debbie Fischer, she always seems to know just what I like! All the barters I have done have been just great! You are a wonderful bunch of ladies! Hugs, Mary

Two things for me: I get rid of things I have and don't want/need anymore and I get things I do want in return and 2) I absolutely love the gals that put a note in their swap. I just love getting to know a little bit about the person getting the swap. I'm the "chatty" type and so this feeds my heart. Joey

Amen to that.

The best thing about bartering is that it feels like Christmas when you receive something new in the mail.
