Does anyone have any Foxfire Books they would be willing to part with. My son just got me the first volume and now I am HOOKED! I want to get them all.

I have homemade soaps. Crafts. Craft supplies. Herbal Salve. Jam. All kinds of things to barter.

Do what you love, love what you do.

I have the entire collection, including the one he wrote called "Sometimed a Shining Moment. I lived in the little town of Clayton, Georgia, near Mountain City where they had a foxfire get together back in 1990 and he was there and I spoke with him a few minutes and he autographed his book for me. I was outraged when it came out in the paper about him, did not believe it,such a lovely man but then it turned out to be true. His name was Elliot Wiggington if I recall. I was living there when they locked him away. Such a tragic thing. But the books are still are worthwhile, I read them every few years. Hope you can find a complete set. try Abebooks.com too. Good Luck

I give these to my husband for fathers day every year, and I buy new or like new used ones from a company on line called 'Alibris'. I never buy books any where else now because they are so much cheaper there. You should check it out and see what you think. I hope this helps you. I also go to goodwill once in a blue moon and I will keep my eye open for you. We have been married five years and have five volumes also! Sounds like that is just about what everyone has.

I hope you can get them! I devour what I read from them. There is a magazine called Georgia Mountain Laurel that regularly features articles taken from the Foxfire books. It is free at certain locations when you travel through the state, but I know you are far away. You may look for sources for that too. Check ebay. I think the books are timeless, and capture a the lives of people that were gems in their time. I love Appalachia and the folks who lived in the hills many decades ago. They still are there, but harder to meet or come across. Just last week we were driving from LAke Lure NC back to Waynesville NC along a country road through the mountains. It was Sunday morning, and we passed a cabin with two people sitting on their front porch, she in a robe and he shirtless with a beard. They smiled and waved like we were long lost cousins. We passed a small United Methodist church that had a group of old fellas standing in front of the door, all in plaid shirts and khakis. Sunday best. One had overalls. They waved too. Love that.

They do have them for sale online, I was just hoping to trade to keep the cost down. I tried going to the link you posted (kathy) but couldn't get to any that would actually download. I think they took them off the site. Oh well. I have a request in to my kids for the next two years worth of gift giving opportunities. =)

I was at Foxfire a few years ago, and they had all the books still for sale in the gift shop. I bet you can get them online.

Hi, Angie. I only know of one other Farmgirl besides you and I that are trying to collect the Foxfire books. So far, I only have five. Good luck with collecting yours.

I don't know of anyone yet who trades them.
