Posted - Aug 26 2012 : 8:02:18 PM Hi Beverly, Best to you in your move and endeavors. My Aunt travels to India because she is a scholar and has written many articles and is working on a book on Ahimsa (non-harm). She knows Sanskrit even. She is working many peace issues with the United Nations also. Do be careful in the rivers. She was involved in a river ceremony and ended up with some strange amoeba that nearly killed her. She was so sick. She does not eat any meat in any form in India and has become an vegetarian because of her religion. For whatever reasons you are going there, be aware of the following: "Burma and Sri Lanka are mired in communist-backed insurgencies. India is the only nation that is growing toward modern integreation with the West, but that modernization only touches the well-educated minority in a few major cities. The rest of India is still wallowing in poverty, religious infighting and heavy-handed provincial governments that enforce a rigid form of socialism on all aspects of business. Countries with huge population densities such as India, coupled with systematic socialist corruption, will never be stable." "In addition, both India and Pakistan are nuclear nations armed by other competing world powers. They have a long-standing hatred for each other and engage in military clashes on a regular basis. China was the major benefactor in Pakistan; Russia backed India. Now the West dominates Pakistan and is making a major move on India. The West views India as a counterweight to Chinese dominance in the region. It's the only nation in the world that has a population base sufficient to match China. The subcontinent area will be a very dangerous place in the next world war, so avoid it." Two paragraphs taken from Stratergic Relocation: North American Guide to Safe Places (With selecting a safe country chapters). 2010 Third edition. Joel M Skousen and Andrew Skousen. The third world war is estimated to take place in the next 10 to 20 years contrived attacks on the U.S. in order to give the U.S. an excuse to renig on economic promises and justify actions that will further take away many freedoms we have today. There is also a silent and hidden movement to put pressure on the United States to change from U.S. Currency to a Worldwide currency form. The banks have us trained to keep on using electronic funds and transfers and paying with debit and I see this as a stepped process to de-sensitize us to achieve their new reality in the next 15 years. Slow steps inching their way to a hidden agenda. It happened in Germany and one day the German mark was worthless. My husbands grandmother ended up burning her German money to keep her warm as it was now worthless. It happened in Vietnam twice, to level out the new emerging elite. Anyway, back to now. Be careful and be sure to take some Rx for parasites with you. Have your doctor give you lots of Albenza. Boil your water and take water filters with you. Flies and larva...fertilizers and chemicals in the water. Let the American Embassy know where you are. Love and light! Annie
"The turnings of life seldom show a sign-post; or rather, though the sign is always there, it is usually placed some distance back, like the notices that give warning of a bad hill or a level railway-crossing." Edith Wharton, 1913 from 'The Custom of the Country'. |

Posted - Aug 26 2012 : 4:38:32 PM Beverly, I have a ton of "Victorian" type of illustrations, magazines :( I have quite a few magazines from the 1940's, but they're not specifically fashion. Would you like me to go through them and gently tear out some of the fashion pages for you...I'm sure I could round up quite a few. Any specific type of thing you're looking for?
