I've been looking at gorgeous end products of hooked rugs and then someone told me how to do it and I'd love to give it a try!! So -- anyone have any rug hooking stuff they'd like to get rid of? (like frame or hook or ??)

Let me know if you do and what you'd like in return!!

Hi Sheila,

I have a great book on rug hooking that's in new condition. I had thought about trying it myself, but I have so many other things that I am interested in that I finally decided that it wasn't for me. If you want it let me know and I will send it out to you.

hugs

There is a frame thing at my local thrift shop.. they have it marked for $65.00. I personally have no idea about that sort of thing but I could stop by and get a picture for you if you would like?

I have a latch hook rug kit that I could trade. Probably not what you're looking for.

no ... I'm saying it is VERY expensive to buy all the stuff you need to start the way you may think you need to. But you can start out doing it other ways to see if you even like it.
Don't get me wrong, YES the end producct is BEAUTIFUL! but your talking years of hooking and most all have the best supplies.
I just sold my K's frame for 135.00 used ... just saying try it for a while ... that's what I did!

ummmmm. . .okay? so you're saying basically "quit while you're ahead?"

My friends have told me not to use an embr hoop but that's probably where I'll begin. I've been thinking about this for a few years. . .

Hi Shelia,
Rug hooking is a very expensive hobby ... frame, wool, linen, hooks, cutters ... you can just try it out on a larger embroidery hoop and a rotary cutter, crochet hook. try it .. you may find that it is not for you.
