Hi there! I'm fairly new but not seeing a chapter in my area, I went ahead and started one. If anyone is in the Champaign-Urbana area or knows Farmgirls who are, please join me in the Prairie Farmgirls Gathering.

I already head up a craft group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CU_craftgroup/ that meets semi-regularly and my ultimate goal would be to merge this group along with other crafty Farmgirl-types into one unified Prairie Farmgirls Gathering. Anyone have experience transforming a pre-arranged group into a Farmgirl Chapter? Our craft group is an ever-changing cast of characters with a few fulltime players so I could always just change the name but I'd rather gather everyone behind one rallying cry of "Farmgirls Rule" than just change the name for my own sake.

Small world isn't it Jeannie? I love going to Springfield! So much to do there.

You gals are sure making me homesick! I was born and raised in Spingfield, and listening to you all talk about where you live brings lots of memories to mind! Just went through Staunton last August when I went home. Hope you Prairie gals can get together! :)

Hi to CorgiPants and coffeemom, I'm here in rural Greenview, half way between Peoria and Springfield. I don't know of a chapter in my area and would like to visit some of the meetings/get togethers sometime, when I'm not sewing, cooking, gardening or dreaming about gardening of course. Keep us posted on the progress of the groups, I'm glad I found fellow central illinois farm girls!
