Hey there, My name is Stephanie aka queenofdreamsz. I live at the base of Lookout Mountain in northeast Alabama where it meets the Georgia state line and about 40 miles south of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

We have 5 acres and the house is nestled in a ridge by one of the main highways that cross over the mountain. I used to have Dairy goats up until about 15 months ago. I handraised the kids, was always present for deliveries, made the French Chevre cheese and all the great recipes that it can be used in!

Life took many unexpected curves and I had to sell the herd and move on with my new life. I do miss them so much! It took me about 6 months after being here to stop feeling like I was forgeting to do something outside...LOL

Once the farm life gets under your skin it's hard to remove it.. I was born a city girl and turned to a farm girl about 16 years ago and have had the goats every opportunity that I could. I traveled alot but that's another story..LOL

Anyway, I have a wonderful kind supportive husband that I've known for 7 years and been married to for a bit more than a year. I'll be 49 years young on July 2.

I have followed my dream of design and sewing and have designed my business website and just getting to the point of stocking those virtual shelves! I didn't think I'd ever get it ready.

I have an extensive vintage fabric, sewing pattern and transfer collection that I am using as my inventory since 5 closets plus underneath my 4 x 8 foot cutting table is full of fabric!! Yikes, I really am a Fabric Junkie..LOL

I have about 70 Chenille bedspreads and lot of vintage tablecloths, cottons, damask and Barkcloth.

My assistant is my 4 pound little girl Yorkie doggie...So I really need this Farmgirl connection to hear from other farmgirls that are actively living the life.

For now I have made a choice to devote my time to my design and creating...I was never able to do it before now and so my time has arrived!

Can't wait to hear from y'all...

Also, I've got to go sign up for the yo-yo swap and the doll apron swap!! Thanks for having me!

Peace,
Stephanie

Welcome, Stephanie. Your place nestled in a forest sounds wonderful. I bet you have lots of beautiful native wildflowers there. It always seems to me that the most delicate and lovely native flowers here in Kentucky grow in the rich soil in a forest.

I know what you mean about Guinea Hens being great alarm systems!
When I used to have Geese, they were excellent for letting me know who was coming up my driveway, lol!

Hey there Jeannie,

I've had a few guinea's in the past years..they make great alarm systems. LOL One of my friends called me one morning and said she kept hearing something on her roof and finally went outside and everyone of her guinea's were perched on the ridge of her roof :o) I had a polish hen that loved to roost on top of my barn....She looked like a wild weathervane sitting up there..LOL

Be sure to signup for my newsletter at my website, OK? Here's a direct link to the sign-up www.dreamkingdomdesigns.com/newsletterandpromotions.html or just click on "stay connected" at the homepage www.dreamkingdomdesigns.com

Thanks so much for looking at the site. I've worked soooo hard designing it that I'm excited for folks to visit even though I'm not officially opened yet....gotta get those shelves stocked!

Talk to ya later,
Peace,
Stephanie

We are nestled into the ridge and it'is dense woods on both side and the back of the property. The front yard is the only area that really looks like a yard. It's absolutely beautiful in this area of the mountains.
Desoto National Park is 3 miles from me on Lookout Mountain and then at the south end of the mountain is Little River Canyon. It is the deepest canyon in this part of the uSA. Periodically the Air National Guard pilots that are in training fly through the canyon where radar can't pick them up! I hear them about once a month go over my house....It's really strange to hear because I'm sitting out here in the woods and usually only hear the train...LOL

Peace,
Stephanie

My brother has a Guinea Hen that found it's way onto his property a few years back. It drives him crazy but it's still a part of the family. Next time I visit (he's in New Jersey), I'm going to have to take pictures of that hen, lol!
Glad you're here!

Hey there to everyone!

Thanks so much for the warm welcome! It has been difficult to find a group that is "warm" and where alot of folks are interacting.

As I mentioned in my first post that I used to have dairy goats. I live in a forest so now that I don't have the livestock or chickens anymore I feed ALL of the wildlife that I can draw into the habitat areas that we are developing.

I love birdwatching so I've got a well established feeding area for them that I can see while sitting in my sunroom or working in my studio area. Here's a list of what we are feeding on any given day: deer and their babies, raccoons, skunks, wild turkey, pileated woodpeckers, redbellied and snowy woodpeckers, indygo bunting, rose breasted grosbeaks, raspberry finches, american goldfinches, juncos, towhee, dove, crackle, cow birds, cardinals, blue jays, chickadees, wren, titmouse...

You know this is the first time I've listed all the birds I'm feeding....LOL I think I'm a bird junkie too..LOL

I look so forward to meeting more of you and really developing some longterm friendships. Cyberspace can be a wonderful place to exchange ideas and keep one another inspired to follow their dreams!

Here is a picture of our resident Turkey :o) Every family usually has one but fortunately mine has feathers..RITFLOL

And here is my assistant and super doggie model :o) My 4 pound Yorkie furbaby, Miss Morgan

Miss Morgan in the diapers and crocheted sweater that I make for her and also offer for sale

I compressed all these pictures so they should load fast...

Well, I gotta go decide which fabric I'll use for my first doll apron.....I'll come visit over at the Apron making area too.

Peace,
Stephanie

Hi there Stephanie!

here is a link to the topic about the Doll Apron Swap. Frannie aka Cabin Creek Kentucky is the "mama" of the swap.
http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=10798
Basically everyone that is participating is making two aprons, sending one to swap with the others and one to MaryJane at MaryJanesFarm. Fun! There are almost always a handful of fun swaps happening!

Hey there Alee,

I'm a member at Etsy and Ebay under the name of "dreamkingdom"

Take a look at the website I've designed at www.dreamkingdomdesigns.com You can sign up for my newsletter at the Stay Connected area on the homepage.

I love to hand sew and free motion sew on my machine and I have a Needlefelting machine. I spin yarn on my drop spindle also.

Can you tell me about the "doll apron" swap? I've posted on the stitching area but no one has posted yet. I saw it mentioned this morning at the connection sign up homepage in the "current discussions"

Hope to hear from you, Peace, Stephanie
