HI I have been a lurker here for awhile, LOL. But finally decided to join and say HI so HI!!! My name is Amy and I have been married going on 16 years to my high school sweetheart. I have 6 children ages 15,12,11,9,5, and 4. We do not currently live in the country, but hope to move there ASAP. I have raised goats, rabbits, and have had a variety of different horses that I have shown in a number of disciplines show jumping, dressage, barrel racing, etc, LOL, although none currently. At the moment we have 3 Miniature Schnauzers, 4 adult cats and litter of 5 kittens, way to cute, 2 rabbits, and a cranky cockatiel.

We are blessed to live in a rural area though so we purchase fresh from cow milk, as well as farm eggs. We make our own butter and try to get bread making done as much as possible. Besides the plan to eventually move to the country I hope to someday have a tea room. At the moment I cater the occasional tea for ladies groups, I make wedding cakes, and bake a variety other cakes and scones etc for people. We are active in our church and my husband is also in a Christian rock band called Staynlis that has recently recorded in Nashville, and we HOPE you will be hearing all about them soon!!!

I enjoy alot of things sewing, crocheting, quilting, crafts, baking, cooking, I scrapbook and make cards. And at the moment am trying to find away to make some of the many things I do earn a little extra money to help out the family. Sigh...... I'll get there. Anyway I write as long winded as I talk to people, LOL so I will stop with this.

Hugs
Amy

Amy,
Your life sounds so wonderful, welcome. I think you will fit right in. I have 4 kids, the same age as yours, 12,11,5 & 4. I want to have 2 more but am trying to get finances under control first. I also do wedding cakes, well I used to work for a catering company years ago. Now I mainly do them for friends and family as a gift. So many of the things you love, I do as well. I just have one problem..... time. Do you find time to do all of those things now or will you be waiting until retirement (does that ever come to a farmgirl?) like I keep saying will happen? Welcome, you have found the best group of gals.

Hi, Amy, I am new here myself but I assure you everyone will make you feel at home. Even in my younger years I don't think I could have kept up with your busy schedule but you sure have a beautiful life. Enjoy every minute! Good luck with your new music endeavors.

We have had our bird for almost a year. We adopted him from some people who were not the nicest to him although they were nicer then the people they got him from. He sustained some damage from the origional people, he is missing a couple of toes and bites. But we are trying, no he does not talk, we tried and tried, we tired to feed him the better food and fresh fruit and veggies, and he would ignore it until it rotted except the seeds He is too stuck in his ways. He does however look better he has grown in a fuller plume on his head and is much more shiny, I know thats not right, but I am sure you get it. He does like to watch tv we have discovered, LOL.

Hi, Amy! Welcome! I have a cranky bird, too. Mine is a cockatoo. How long have you had your bird? Does he/she talk?

Hello amy and welcome. How nice it is that you surround yourself with that many animals when you have a big family as well. Bread making is so nice, just like the smell of it when it is freshly baked but also all the step in between. Maybe you can sell your crafted items on Ebay or on Etsy ? A lot of talented ladies do so here. Good luck with the Tea Room idea, sounds really a nice project. Have a great day,
Corinne
