Posted - Jul 04 2007 : 4:02:44 PM I am a new single owner of a big old hundred-year-old house in a town of 608 - 609 now that I live here:)
As some have mentioned, I once thought I would marry a farmer, too. At 62, I am not likely to marry anyone, but who knows.
In the meantime, I work a forty-hour week and commute three hours a day to enjoy my chosen place. The release of tension as I drive home from work must be visible, if not audible. This is where I belong.
I am a grandmother of three - ages 9 months, 1 year+ and almost five.
It is my hope to create a place of peace for them and others in the midst of this worldly turmoil.
For years, I thought I needed a man to do this. Now, I will learn from all of you ladies and be grateful for your expertise.
Back to studying past conversations.
Thanks for being there:)
Lola Miranda

Posted - Jul 06 2007 : 09:06:44 AM Welcome, Lola. You've got the FarmGirl attitude already. How wonderful of you to want to make a safe haven for your grandkids and let them experience the small town way of life as well. You sound like you'll be a role model for them, too. How lucky they are to have you as their grandmother.
My daughter and son-in-law use to live in Stevens Point, WI where he taught at the college. Also have some friends from Park Rapids. Are you anywhere close to that?
Welcome again.
Peace and love. Annie |
