Hi, I'm Heather, and I live on 5.5 acres in rural eastern Iowa. I have a 2 1/2 year old son and a 5 month old son. I am a stay at home mom and I raise Shih Tzus and Shelties for a little extra income. We have lived here 4 years (my and my hubby's first home in the country) and I become more and more of a farmgirl every day.

Currently I have 7 Shih Tzus + plus a litter of 4 born 5 days ago, 2 Shelties, 2 mixed breed farmdogs, many cats and kittens, 3 mini horses, 11 pygmy and nigerian dwarf goats (including a 5 day old kid), and tons of chickens. I have Rhode Island Reds, Cochins, bantam Cochins, Buff Brahmas, Delawares, and a silver spangled hamburg. My husband keeps telling me I have enough animals, but you know how that goes. He was nice enough to take care of everybody while I was on bed rest and after I had my baby. I think he secretly liked it.

I also like to do a lot of crafts, when I can find the time. I love gardening, but my gardening is kind of a disaster area this year, due to having 2 small children. I also enjoy sewing, knitting, needlepoint, jewelry making, painting, reading, scrapbooking, and cooking. There really isn't much that I'm not interested in.

Well, I can't wait to get to know you all!

Heather

Hi Heather! I was born & raised here in Missouri, but I did live in Iowa for over a year, in Eldridge & DeWitt. I absolutely loved it, but I had no family so I moved back home. Let me know what you think of Iowa, I think the people are wonderful. I couldn't believe what a wonderful place it could be.

Hang in there,

Welcome Heather - my grandparents owned and the family still has a farm near Joice, Iowa. What beautiful country, and it will be fun to hear more about your life on the farm.

Hi Heather from another Eastern Iowan. I'm from near Cedar Rapids. Your animals sound great. You have your hands full with the two little ones.

Hello and welcome Heather, it seems you are having a very interresting life and lots of people to take care of. You will enjoy this place, it is fun and they are always some projects going on. I like to quilt myself and have only 2 cats at home.
Looking forward to get to know you too.
