Hi, my name is Linda. I heard about this site from a dear friend of mine. This site is great. I am new to talking on the internet, so I kept putting it off. But the more I see on your site, I think it would be fun and interesting to join in. I do love all things country. My favorites are gardening and sewing. I have lived in Southern Illinois my whole life. I would really love to hear from you guys.

It can be a bit scary I guess, but it is like visiting with friends here! So I do hope you will pull up a chair, grab a yummy drink, and visit away!

I'm about 1 1/2 hours from you. Maybe some day soon we can meet somewhere between and have lunch or something!

Hi, I couldn't wait to get home from work and check in with you guys. I live about 8 miles outside of Mt.Vernon, Il. The weather here has been very hot and humid, but no rain. Everything is so dry. We haven't mowed our lawn in weeks.

Welcome from Homer Glen, just southwest of Chicago! I absolutely love our state, it's so beautiful and diverse. Glad you could join us. I am a big gardening fan. It's been quite a unique summer here. How's things down south? Are you getting lots of rain, heat & humidity too?

Hi Linda - good to have you here. It is a safe place. I grew up in Springfield, Ill. And lived for a while in St. Louis, so travelled through southern Illinois a lot. We still do when we go home, as we stop in Paducah, Ky for the night and look forward to our long drive up through our home state (hubby is from Illinois, too) as we get near home. He is from Rockford, which is way up north!

I look forward to hearing about your life and your hobbies!

Wow! I walked away from the computer for a little while and when I came back I felt like I had more friends in a few minutes than I had in few years. I feel very welcome. A little more about myself. I have a son who is 24 and married. They have 2 children Nathaniel 4 and Ethan 3. I also have a 15 year old daughter. She will be a sophmore this year. I live in a very small town. I have a small vegetable garden which is quickly dying out because of the lack of rain. I also have a small wild flower garden with such things as bee balm, chives, yarrow, etc. This is my favorite place to be.

Welcome Linda. Tell us more about your life and family, etc. What do you grow in your garden? Is there anything special you like to sew - clothes, kids, quilts, crafts - or just everything in general? Glad you found us. You'll have a blast and get to know some fantastic ladies.

Peace and love.

Hey Linda, I am so happy and proud to see you there. This is the next best thing, as good as pulling a chair on a pront porch and looking out, sharing some cookies and a cup of tea. Have as much fun here as the one I get everyday.

Welcome Linda, from NW Indiana! My in-laws are in Charleston, IL--not really "southern" IL, but still fairly close. We go down there once or twice a month. I bet you're HOT, HOT, HOT right now!!

Warm Welcome from Louisiana, Linda!! "Your" friend is a "new" friend of mine and told me you'd be joining us. You will have so much fun here! Tell us some more about you. Are you married? Children? What kind of things do you like to sew and what are you growing in your garden? There you go - answer those and your are offically "talking" on the internet.

Very cute screen name - sounds like you are one of the farmgirls for sure!
