Posted - Sep 21 2007 : 5:57:58 PM Hello Ladies!
My name is Toni and I live in west central Indiana. I am 27 and get to be a stay at home mom to my nearly 8 month old son, Wyatt. My husband is a grain farmer and we live in the county where he grew up. I am originally from Iowa, but mostly grew up in Tennessee, then college in Kentucky, now here. I have been checking the site out for a week or two, and thought that I would jump in.
I love cooking, gardening, cows and chickens. I like the idea of sewing, but am not great at finishing projects. I must say that I am very impressed with all that you girls do! Maybe some of that will rub off on me...I feel like I hardly get anything productive done around here, and I only have one baby so far!
Have a great weekend and hope to talk again soon!

I am glad that another farmgirl with a young baby has joined up. Nora is my 6 month old so it will be great hearing your perspective on questions I am sure I will have!

Posted - Sep 27 2007 : 10:39:43 PM Welcome Toni, from another Hoosier farmgirl! I am up in the NW corner of our state. Sounds like you are near Indy maybe?
Taking care of baby Wyatt (great name by the way!) is the most productive thing you can do right now. There will always be time to stitch, but our babes grow up so fast! I have three boys...seems they were tiny not too long ago. If you find a few moments here & there for yourself I think you are doing just fine. Hope you will enjoy being part of the gang. Looking forward to getting to know you better! Again, WELCOME!
Blessings, Rhonda

Posted - Sep 27 2007 : 08:16:30 AM Hi, Toni! Welcome from one of the Louisiana farmgirls. I had to laugh, though. Want to compare our 'unfinished projects' baskets???? I have soooooo many, it's almost shameful! I've made myself a promise that I will work on one, until I get it finished. Then I will reward myself with something simple, but still want very much! It's not working real great, but I'm getting better! Glad to have you on the forum!

Posted - Sep 23 2007 : 01:02:41 AM Hi Toni, So glad that you are here and introducing yourself. Like Lori said, hon, enjoy the precious moments with them and know that there will be times your house is celaner and others times it just won't, that is just part of life with kids. They are precious and your greateset job and joy and sometimes your biggest frustration. But so worth it, speaking from a Grandma's point of view. Welcome, welcome, welcome. Carol Sue

Posted - Sep 22 2007 : 07:32:41 AM Hi Toni,
Welcome! Everyone here is so friendly and helpful, too. I know exactly what you mean about feeling like you're not getting much accomplished with a baby, but PLEASE enjoy this precious time! Everyone told me that, and I worried about the housecleaning, etc. Before you know it, they're driving, working, and you wonder where the time went. Visit us when you can! |
