Posted - Oct 06 2007 : 11:05:52 AM Hi there. I'm reintroducing myself as it has been quite awhile since I have been here. Lost my password, immersed in major life changes with adoption, etc. Anyway, wanted to come back and vsit with other farm girls now that the cold weather has set in and I am indoors more.
I live on a ranch in central Washington state and raise Nubian goats, horses, chickens, other assorted critters, and 4 children. My hubby is a firefighter and I'm home most of the time making soap, homeschooling, cooking, etc. I love home!
We have a small farm girl chapter called Muckboots 'N Aprons. We really do wear that get-up! We are having a soap making workshop for some ladies who haven't done it before this fall, and next year a cheese making workshop. We are all homeschoolers, so we stay pretty busy in our own homes and just meet mostly casually and show off our projects to each other.

Posted - Oct 11 2007 : 07:39:37 AM Yes, they are. When we wear them for barn chores, and "mucking out" stalls, we call them muckboots.

Posted - Oct 10 2007 : 05:13:08 AM Welcome home, Dalyn! I'm wishing I lived closer as well. Living in Louisiana makes it a bit far to come to the workshops, but if I ever win the lottery, I'm going to visit all of you! Of course, I hear you have to actually buy a ticket to win, so don't make up the guest rooms yet!

Posted - Oct 07 2007 : 1:14:01 PM Re-Welcome Dalyn! Glad to see you back! Since Toni & I are both envious of all the WA goings on...and we are both here in Indiana, perhaps we will drive out for a worshop. If only...

Posted - Oct 06 2007 : 12:20:33 PM Hi Dalyn!
Congratulations on your adoption!
All you Washington farmgirls are making me jealous...sounds like so much fun out there! I would love to come to your workshops, if only I were a bit closer! We flew into Washington to begin our drive to our honeymoon in Montana, so I have only seen a bit, but it is beautiful out there. Desperately want to go back someday soon!
Can't wait to learn more about you!

Posted - Oct 06 2007 : 11:59:55 AM Welcome Back Dalyn! Don't you just love muckboots? They are probably my favorite pair of footwear in my closet right now (No foolin!) You have to have a good pair if you are in them for any length of time- and when I am wearing them, I have no fear of only puddle or muck! It makes farm life easier if you aren't constantly having to worry about where you step! :D
