I joined over a year ago and may have introduced myself before, I can't remember. My name is Elaine (Lainey) and I live in a rural area in east central Kentucky. I enjoy coming to the site and reading the posts, you all are so nice here. I've found some really good and helpful information.

My husband and I don't have children yet, but we have several animal and fowl family members. We have a small orchard and raise a small garden. This is our third year living here and we are learning as we go as far as planting and harvesting. I just wanted to say hi to you all.

Have a great day!

Hi, Lainey! Welcome home. I may be checking in with you -- I planted three apple trees and a self-pollinating plum and cherry tree last year. They're still babies, but I'm looking towards the future when I'll have plenty on hand to make applesauce and applebutter! Glad to have you!

Thank you all so much for the kind welcome! Jenny, Waco is a small community about 30 miles southeast of Lexington, between Richmond and Irvine. I think it's pretty here and have lived in this area most of my life. My husband and I haved lived in our current house over 3 years now, but it's only 2 miles from the house I grew up in.

My husband is originally from Stockholm, Sweden. I lived there with him for a very short time after we were married before I had to come back here to get started on the immigration process. As he was a 'big city boy' this country living is fairly new to him, but he loves it!

Frannie: Waco is about 125 miles east of Elizabethtown. My husband, my inlaws, and I passed through there several weeks ago coming back from a little trip to Nashville. That's pretty country down in that area.

Jonni: It's nice meeting other Kentucky ladies here and I would enjoy meeting up with you all someday.

Thanks again everyone for making me feel welcome here and I look forward to getting to know you all!

Hi Lainey!

So glad you decided to join us! I went to college at Western Kentucky and my parents now live in Bardstown, but I don't think I've ever been to Waco. I am sure that it is beautiful there. I really hope that you come back to chat again soon!

Friends,
Toni

Howdy, Lainey, from one Kentucky girl to another. I believe I have been in Waco, but don't remember what for ...probably ambling through on one of our many "get lost" days, driving around.

I'm from the Northern part of Kentucky, Elsmere, just south of Covington (and ultimately, Cincinnati, Ohio).

Welcome, and hope we get to know more about you! There are some other Kentucky girls on this board--one day, we'll all have to meet someplace central in our lovely state!
