Posted - Oct 26 2007 : 6:44:34 PM I am so excited to become a part of such a great "Family".
I'll go ahead and you a little about myself now. Weeelllll I am a true farm girl born and bred. On and off while growing up, married a dairy farmer/ cowboy when I was 14, been married 31 years (you do the math).I have 2 farmers daughters and 3 Gkids. I have rode horses most of my life, milked cows done it all. I now raise Nubian dairy goats and will have my first taste of goat milking in Feb, and I am really looking forward to that.I plan to make cheese and butter and soap. I garden, sew, knit, crochet, quilt, etc, etc, but I have to play nurse for a living for now and plan to play fulltime farm girl soon. Looking forward to chatting with you guys, Becky

Posted - Oct 29 2007 : 6:03:45 PM Thanks so much to all of you. I haven't had this much fun in forever. I am suddenly so into living well or simple or green or what ever you want to call it and this has just pumped me up. When I was first married at age 14, LOL, I had to wash diapers on a wringer washer, cook 3 big meals each day for the sawmillers, harvest and can from a HUGE garden and orchards, (I'M talking pick-up truck loads of corn and 8 bushels of green beans at a time)etc, etc, I cried many a day. But, Oh what I would give to have that life again and not have to punch a clock, just live off the land. We really do alot of the same things that we used to but on a smaller scale. It is very ironic how up til about a year ago I couldn't get enough material things in my life like the Jaguar in my driveway (I love it but I would trade it for a good work horse for the garden in a heartbeat. I'm not sure what happened in my mind maybe I finally grew up!! Any way thanks again for feeding my soul, Many Hugs, Becky

Posted - Oct 26 2007 : 11:30:53 PM WElcome Becky!!! You will just love it here....you will love having fresh goat milk. I milked goats for years (mostly Saanens) before I got my cow. Milking is such a fun part of life. I would sure miss it if I didn't have some sort of dairy animal in my life! It will be fun to get to know you here!!!
