I was born and raised in WNY and hadn't ever heard of Chazy. But, then, there are a lot of towns in NY I never heard of. I think NY just has too many towns to know them all. The closest I'd ever been to your area is Tupper Lake, Watertown and the St. Lawrence River. Which are not really all that close to you.
