Posted - Jan 17 2009 : 08:07:38 AM Good Morning! I grew up in town, but moved out to my grandmother's farm a while back. I raise chickens and a few ducks. I have an aviary with finches and a parakeet. Last summer I had a pretty good garden. I write a column for the local paper called, "Letter from Birdland." You can keep up with it online at http://birdlandreading.gather.com/. If you do happen to log in and comment, let me know you're from MaryJane's Farm! :)

Posted - May 26 2009 : 4:35:28 PM Hello Mary and welcome!
I love birds but know nothing about them (except that so many varieties of them look and sound really pretty LOL!) I had a pair of lovebirds flirting with me through the glass at the pet supply store last week, and was so tempted. I will definitely have to check out your column's website. :D

Posted - May 24 2009 : 07:14:40 AM Welcome Mary! As a lifelong resident of IL, I have no clue where White Heath is! We have loads of birds here by me, 20 miles southwest of Chicago. Thanks to loads of woods, lakes, ponds, and prairie we get a steady stream of varities all year long.
Glad you joined us! I'm sure you'll love it here. There have been a lot of IL farmgirls joining this past year! It's a great place to be!
