I'm finally signing in to say hello after a problem with corrupted cookies - sounds like a new organic line to me :) After discovering and then devouring Mary Jane's Ideabook-Cookbook-Lifebook, I realized that I too was a farm girl - so had to make it official. Grew up traveling as an Air Force brat, now rooted with my hubby and two nocturnal teens. Moved to Eastern WA about 5 yrs ago and enjoy almost 2 acres of weedy potential that continues to fill up with edibles and is patrolled by one dog, two cats, four hens, and one rogue rooster. I am an organic gardening maniac, now converted to heirlooms, love camping (mostly the poking the stick in the fire part) and reading a good book accompanied by hot earl grey tea with a side of dark chocolate (mmm sounds good). Other than those bits, just hanging out with family and friends is pretty cool. Recently learning how to preserve food and dreaming of that spring thaw while dusting off the sewing machine - what beautiful aprons you all have out there! I'm frustrated with knitting because I keep forgetting the steps - but haven't given up. Anyway...just wanted to introduce myself - didn't mean to ramble on - just so thrilled to find such a great inspiring group of ladies..ahem...farmgirls!

Welcome Sher! You sound a lot like me, there's nothing like reading a good book, drinking Earl Grey, and having a piece of dark chocolate! I do that too. I'm looking forward to getting to know you.

Thanks for all your warm welcomes, and a welcome to Jennifer too. Looks like lots of gardeners and crafters - took a peek at the blogs some of you gals have... fun fun fun. And an Air Force wave to Stephanie :) Now I have the morning to meander over to some of the specialty forums...so hope to see y'all there too.

Sher,

Welcome to the forum. So far I see many things you and I already have in common...I'm an Air Force brat, have one doggie, Miss Morgan the Yorkie, Earl Grey tea is my favorite, I sew and the Apron Sew Along is where you'll find me most of the time...

Drop in for a visit at the Stitching and Sewing section and pop in the Apron Sewalong..We are always happy to meet fellow sewing enthusiast wheather it be aprons or anything else that you may be creating.

Hugs, Stephanie

I'm so glad you joined us Sher! You'll love it here. Lots to share, learn and laugh at. There are many farmgirls here who have the exact same interests as you! I love organic gardening & cooking too. I can't wait to plant my garden here, though our last frost date isn't until May 15.
